REBEKAH EVELYN REYNOLDS
Sept. 29, 2026
Funeral services for Rebekah Evelyn Reynolds, 79, will be at 1 p.m. on
Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. before the service begins.

Mt. Zion Cemetery, 12 Sturdivant Rd., Waynesboro, immediately following
the service.
On Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, at the age of 79, Rebekah Evelyn Reynolds
moved from her earthly home and was ushered into her heavenly home to be
forever with the Lord. She was surrounded by the love and legacy of a
family she cherished deeply.
Evelyn shared 62 years of marriage with her beloved husband, J. Howard
Reynolds. Their life together was marked by enduring love, commitment,
and a life of full-time ministry. During the last several years of her
life, she devoted herself to the full-time care of her husband,
faithfully caring for him and demonstrating through her actions the
depth of the promises she had made so many years before.
Evelyn was a loving mother to four children: Deborah Reynolds Harper
(William Harper); Rebekah Jolynn Reynolds; Melinda Faith Henderson
(Larry Henderson); and Brenton Howard Reynolds (Amy Reynolds).
Her family continued to grow through the years, blessing her with 12
grandchildren: Garrett (Rachel), Austin (Tsehaynesh), Gavin, Jake, Grant
(Tara), Gillian, Olivia (Isaac), Grayson, Graham (Hailey), Reed, Galen,
and Sydney.  Evelyn "Nana" was a proud and loving great-grandmother
to Viviana, Atlas, Oliver, Highland and Sage. Each generation became
part of the legacy she leaves behind.
She is also survived by her sisters Jeanette Strahan and Ruth Rightmire,
and her brother Jim Strahan (Josie Strahan).
Evelyn's life cannot be measured simply by the years she lived, but by
the people she loved and the family she helped build. Her 62-year
marriage, her devotion as a wife and mother, her love and ministry she
gave through the communities in which they served and the care she gave
so faithfully are lasting expressions of a life centered around those
she loved most.
She leaves behind her husband, children, grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends who will remember her
life and carry her memory forward until they meet on that blessed day to
be together forever with the Lord.
While her absence will be deeply felt, Evelyn's story continues in the
lives of her extended family and in the countless memories shared by
those who loved her.
In celebration of Evelyn's life and legacy, flowers are welcome. Those
who wish may also honor her memory with a memorial contribution to
Brooklyn Tabernacle (www.brooklyntaberacle.org/giving) or Alabama Youth
Ministries (www.shorturlf.at/CwREW), two ministries that reflect the
faith and values she held dear.
