October 01, 2026
Due to the threat of heavy rain and inclement weather, the Class 3A Division II Tournament has been moved from Saturday and Monday to Monday and Tuesday.
Officials with the Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MSAIS) made the decision on Thursday to move the tournament back in order to avoid the rains and storms expected to roll through the area over the weekend. The tournament is being played at the Magee Sports Complex.
Everything on Saturday has shifted to Monday, with the final games now being played on Tuesday.
Wayne Academy will face Riverfield Academy in a 12 noon game on Monday. The winner will advance to face the winner of the Oak Hill Academy-Leake Academy game at 4 p.m. Monday, with the losers facing off in an elimination game 4 p.m. contest.
Action will continue at 6 p.m. Monday with a pair of elimination games. The Loser's Bracket championship is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, followed by an elimination game at 3 p.m. The winner of that elimination will advance to the championship game needing to beat the winner of the Winner's Bracket twice to claim the tournament title.
The top two finishers in the tournament then will square off in a best-of-three series to be played on Thursday, Oct. 8, Saturday, Oct. 10 and Monday, Oct. 12, if needed.
The Lady Jaguars are looking to defend their 2025 Class 3A Division II Championship by advancing out of this tournament and into the best-of-three series.
