TRUMAN E. WILLIAMS

Feb. 24, 1937-Sept. 24, 2026

Funeral services for Truman E. Williams, 89, of Waynesboro, will be at 
11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral 
Home, with Rev. Joshua Spiers and Rev. Owen King officiating. Visitation 
will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026 from the Chapel of Freeman 
Funeral Home.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Boyles 
Chapel Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Born in Coahoma County on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1937 to the late Andrew J. 
and Coral Williams, he served in the United States Air Force for more 
than 20 years and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired as a 
President of Citizens National Bank in Waynesboro.

After retiring from the bank, he served as the Veterans Officer for 
Wayne County.

He died on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026 at Asbury Hospice House in 
Hattiesburg.

He is survived by his second wife, Mary E. Williams of Collins; his 
daughter, Karen Cochran of Waynesboro; his son and daughter-in-law, John 
E. and Deana Williams of Waynesboro; his brother and sister-in-law, 
Hughie and Ursula Williams of Augusta, Ga.; his grandchildren and their 
respective spouses, Hunter Cochran, Holland Parker, Kaley and Seth 
Walters and Landon Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Walters 
and Bethany Ann Walters.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Williams; his 
father, Andrew J. Williams; his mother, Coral Williams; two brothers, 
Aubrey Williams and Bill Williams; and two sisters, Imogene Draughn and 
Jerre Brewer.

JONATHON C. FREEMAN

Nov. 17, 1982-Sept. 23, 2026

A memorial service for Jonathon C. Freeman, 43, of Waynesboro, will be 
conducted at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026 at Denham Baptist Church.

Born on Nov. 17, 1982, he worked for the State of Mississippi for 19 
years — 14 of those with the Forestry Commission and the remaining 
five with the Mississippi Department of Transportation. He was a 
Volunteer Firefighter with the Denham Fire Department for 13 years.

He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a 
beloved husband, father and son.

He died on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Lissie Freeman; his son, 
Joseph; his daughter, Alex; and his mother, Sandra Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joey Freeman.

GREGORY "VON T" SANDERSON

Feb. 14, 1956-Sept. 27, 2026

Funeral serves for Gregory "Von T" Sanderson, 70, of Waynesboro, 
were conducted on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026 from the Chapel of Freeman 
Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Sehon officiating.

Interment followed at White House Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Born on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1956 to the late Vonnie T. and Nettie Mae 
Sanderson, he retired from Lard Oil Company. He will always be 
remembered by his family as a very kind person. He was an avid reader 
and loved to study history.

He died on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by his sister, Sandra Pacey of Waynesboro; two 
step-nieces and their respective spouse, Jennifer and Mark Randall and 
Linsie DeLorme; and three step-great-nephews, Matthew Williams, Cooper 
William and Jakob DeLorme, all of Brandon.
