Funeral services for J.C. McCann, 83, of Gretna, La., were conducted on
Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026 from Altair Baptist Church, with Apostle Terry
Gullage, Sr., officiating.

Born on Jan. 27, 1943, he worked for Boh Brothers Construction for four
years and then as a Commercial Truck Driver for 21 years until his
retirement. After retirement, he pursued his craftsmanship in air
conditioning, plumbing, electrical work and construction.

He died on Thursday, July 30, 2026 in Gretna.
He is survived by his son, Kevin McCann; his daughters and sons-in-law,
Tammy and James Jones, Linda and Alandus Scott, Keren and Anthony Ray
Ruffin, Angelia McCann, Michelle McCann and Barbara Ann and Crawford
Boyd; a brother-in-law, six sisters-in-law, 21 grandchildren, 28
great-grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and
other relatives and dear friends.

and Mae Velma McCann; his maternal grandparents, Neal and Lou Carter;
his paternal grandparents, Willie McCann and Elsas Bounds; seven
brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law and a host of other family members.
