RUSSELL EDWARD "BUCK" DEARMAN

Feb. 7, 1950-Aug. 6, 2026

A Celebration of Life for Russell Edward "Buck" Dearman, 76, of 
Waynesboro, were conducted on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026 from Pleasant Ridge 
Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Ryan Power and Rev. Matthew Runnels 
officiating.

Interment followed at Serenity Gardens in Waynesboro.

Known affectionately as "Buck" to family and friends, he will be 
remembered for the love he shared with those around him and the steady, 
faithful presence he brought to his family and community.

Born on Feb. 7, 1950 in Waynesboro to Russell Dearman and Annie Lou 
Waller Dearman, he graduated from Buckatunna High School in 1968 and 
went on to build a life marked by hard work, faith and devotion to 
family.

Prior to his retirement, Buck was employed for 44 years at 
Georgia-Pacific in Pennington, Ala., where his dedication and work ethic 
were evident throughout his many years of service.

He was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Assembly of God Church, where 
he served as a Deacon.

Buck enjoyed traveling, gardening and cooking, and he found joy in the 
simple blessings of time spent with the people he loved.

He died on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026 at the University of Mississippi 
Medical Center in Jackson.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Lindsey Smith of 
Richland; his daughter and son-in-law, Sharita and Nick Pitts of 
Waynesboro; his beloved grandchildren and their respective spouses, 
Landry Smith, Slade Smith, Cruse Smith, Kelton and Makenzie Pitts of 
Bradenton, Fla.; Lexi and Jeremy West of Waynesboro, Jayden Pitts and 
Memphis Pitts; his precious great-grandchildren, John Dawson West and 
Jennings West.

He is also lovingly remembers by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda 
and Glenn Tatum of Waynesboro, Marie Thrash of Meridian, Darlene and 
Stevie Winham of Daphne, Ala. and Debra and Ronald Waite of Millry, 
Ala.; his brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Cheryl Dearman of 
Prattville, Ala.; his sister-in-law, Betty Davis of Gulfport; and 
numerous cherished nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie Sue Hinton Dearman; 
his parents, Russell Dearman and Annie Lou Waller Dearman; his sister, 
Evie Turner; his father-in-law, Arvis Hinton; his mother-in-law, Annie 
Hington; his sister-in-law, Louise Overstreet; and his brother-in-law, 
Edward Hinton.

Pallbearers were his nephews, Jamie Thrash, Joey Waite, Chason Waite, 
Jay Dixon, Daniel Dixon, Tommy Dearman, Aiden Harris and Samuel Hopkins.

NOVELLE MCCARTY MCINNIS

March 31, 1928-July 22, 2026

Funeral services for Novelle McCarty McInnis, 98, of Waynesboro, were 
conducted on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026 from New Zion Baptist Church, with 
Pastor John Lacey officiating.

Interment followed at Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in 
Buckatunna.

Born on March 31, 1928, she attended Teachers College and enjoyed 
baking, gardening, sewing, crocheting and visiting her siblings across 
the country.

She died on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at her residence.

She is survived by her sons, Vernon A. McInnis, Esq., of Philadelphia, 
Penn., Attorney Gregory McInnis of Waynesboro and Richard J. McInnis II 
of Indianapolis, Ind.; her daughter and son-in-law, Venecia and Aaron 
Watson; her grandchildren, Matthew McInnis of Fort Worth, Texas, Kayla 
McInnis of Chciago, Ill.; Taylor and Nickolas McInnis of Calumet City, 
Ill., and Aaron Norris McInnis of Bloomington, Ind.; her 
great-grandchildren, Jaylen McInnis of Fort Worth and Jayce McInnis of 
Calumet City; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

ANNIE D. MOODY

Feb. 13, 1944-July 25, 2026

Funeral services for Annie D. Moody, 82, of Shubuta, were conducted on 
Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026 from Green Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Abraham 
McKenzie officiating.

Interment followed at Green Hill Church Cemetery.

Born on Feb. 13, 1944, she worked for Zenith Electronics in Chicago, 
Ill., for 27 years.

She died on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at her residence.

She is survived by her husband, Chester L. Moody; her nieces, Mary J. 
Dulaney, Denice Evans, Mary Lewis and Martha Terrell; her great-nieces, 
Tonya Little, Serena Tolbert and Tracey Dulaney; her great-nephew and 
his spouse, Herman and Nakeisha Dulaney, Jr.; her great-great-nieces, 
Courtney, Shakira, Raven, Trinity and Destiny; her brothers-in-love and 
their respective spouse, Charles and Sherie Banks and Patric Banks; her 
sister-in-love, Collice Peer; and a host of beloved neighbors, friends 
and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara Bell and Oscar Pugh; her 
brother,s Johnell Pugh and Oscar Pugh, JR.; her daughter, Ashley Moody; 
her sister and brother-in-law, Mae Ola and Allen Graham; her 
sister-in-laws, Elsie, Ollie B., Bonya and Shelley; and her fur babies, 
Trouble and Rusty.

REV. DR. OLLIE LEE CHAMBERS

April 15, 1935-July 19, 2026

Funeral services for Rev. Dr. Ollie Lee Chambers, 91, of Detroit, Mich., 
were conducted on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from the Chapel of McDonald 
and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Cecil Jackson officiating.

Interment followed at New Rock Church Cemetery in Millry, Ala.

Born on April 15, 1935, he was a member of Westside Ministers Alliance, 
a member of B.M.E. State Convention, Broadcast Assistant with WDRJ A.M. 
Radio; Intern for Holly Temple Missionary Baptist Church, attended S.J. 
Williams School of Religion, Superintendent of Pulte Construction for 
more than 30 years and was pastor of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church 
for 20 years.

He died on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Sol and Tracie Chambers 
of Detroit; his daughters and son-in-law, Luetrisua and Lester 
Elliott-Norman of Detroit, Alethea Howard od Detroit and Marilyn 
Williams of Clara; his sisters and brother-in-law, Ceretha Crosby of 
Detroit and Michell and Terry Lofton of Buckatunna; his sisters-in-law, 
Cassie M. Chambers of Buckatunna and Mae L. Chambers of Florida; his 
aunts, Cealo Dawkins and Julie Mae Lawson of Buckatunna; special friends 
 in Sister Ramsey and Rev. Ross and family; six grandchildren and a host 
of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Chambers; his parents, Ollie 
and Annie B. Chambers; his daughter, Nancy Everett; two sisters and nine 
brothers.
