The cause of death for the female pulled from the Chickasawhay River Monday has been ruled as accidental.

On Monday afternoon, Deputies, Investigators and Sheriff Jerry “Juice” Mosley responded to a 911 call from passerby boaters who observed a deceased white female floating in the Chickasawhay River in Wayne County. The body was located approximately 7/10 of a mile south of Highway 184 Boat Ramp, West of Waynesboro, MS.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate that the cause of death was accidental.
“There are no signs of foul play according to the autopsy,” Mosley said. “Positive identification of the deceased will require DNA testing due to the condition of the body. DNA testing will be conducted by the Mississippi State Crime Lab and will take several weeks to complete. Until then, we have no information regarding the female."
