Wednesday's America 250 program cancelled

Due to circumstances beyond the control of organizers — including the chance of rain — Wednesday's America 250 program at Rhinehart Square has been cancelled.

Sponsored by the Chickasawhay Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, the program was to feature patriotic singing, speakers and even a reading of the Declaration of Independence. This year marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of that historic document that declared freedom from Great Britain and launched the Revolutionary War.

Organizers said plans are being developed to reschedule the event at a later date.
