After multiple state titles, state and national accolades and more than
1,000 career wins, WCHS Head Girls Basketball Coach Gina Skelton is
stepping away from her duties on the hardwood.
Skelton made the announcement Monday afternoon, telling her players
first and then having WCHS Supervising Principal Robert "Bubba" Hathorn
announce it to staff members at the school.
She is expected to remain on staff as the athletic director, a role she
has fulfilled since returning to WCHS in 2016.
Skelton compiled a career record of 1,017-368 at various stops in
Mississippi and even in Pickens County, Ala.
She won two state titles at WCHS, one at Quitman and another at Forest.
