HAZEL YVONNE "VONCILE" LINDSEY HOLIFIELD
May 5, 1940-March 25, 2026
Funeral services for Hazel Yvonne "Voncile" Lindsey Holifield, 85, of 
Waynesboro, were conducted on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from Red Creek 
Church of God, with Rev. Ray Odom, Rev. Shaun Hale, Rev. Johnathan 
Johnson and Rev. Nick Holifield officiating.
Interment followed at Red Creek Church of God Cemetery.
Born on May 5, 1940 in Silas, Ala., to Thomas and Annette Lindsey, she 
dearly loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren who 
were the center of her life. She was known as the world's best biscuit 
maker, a talent that brought everyone happily to the table.
She enjoyed watching Family Feud and classic TV Westerns, listening to 
the Primitive Quartet and, most of all, sharing time with others. She 
truly enjoyed company any time, welcoming family and friends with a kind 
heart, a good meal and a home filled with love and laughter.
She died on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Baptist Anderson Regional 
Medical Center in Meridian.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Percy Louis and Misty 
Holifield, Jr.; her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Sue and Terry 
Sikes, Melba Diane and Wayne Dearman, Carolyn Yvonne and George Rains, 
Donna Kay and Jimmy Ray Johnson and Shelia Annette Hudson; her brothers 
and sisters-in-law, Roy Lindsey, Troy and Kathy Lindsey, Floyd Lindsey 
and Lloyd Lindsey; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Nelda Sikes, Lou 
Nell Logan, Lilly Beth "Tiny" and James Jenkins, Mary "Needie" Taylor 
and Charlotte and Jimmy Stokley; 18 grandchildren and a host of 
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Louis Holifield, Sr.; 
her father, Thomas Edward Lindsesy; her mother, Alice Annette Raines 
Lindsey; her brothers, John Thomas Lindsey and Joe Lee Lindsey; her 
sister, Annie Mae "Doll Baby" Lindsey; her grandchildren, Cole Sikes, 
Haley Sikes, Thomas Lankford, Mathew Lankford and Gracelynn Johnson; and 
a great-great-grandchild, Winter Gail Sikes.
Serving as pallbearers were K.J. Sikes, Devin McIlwain, Ronnie Dearman, 
Dustin Holifield, George Raines, Jr. and Tillman Dearman. Honorary 
pallbearers were Leslie Paul Sikes, Jaymin Hudson, Shad Cooley, Dylan 
Nelson, T.J. Sikes, Christopher Hofield, Ryan Mason and Eli Mason.

BLAKE LEE SMITH
March 11, 2004-March 21, 2026
Funeral services for Blake Lee Smith, 22, of Waynesboro, were conducted 
on Monday, March 30, 2026 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with 
Rev. Bart Whitehead officiating.
Interment followed at White House Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Born in Laurel on Thursday, March 11, 2004, he worked as a Roustabout 
for Ryco Rentals. A member of the Clara Volunteer Fire Department, he 
will always be remembered as a wonderful "Daddy." He enjoyed the 
outdoors while mud riding and was always full of life. Even in death, he 
gave life to others by becoming a donor through Legacy of Hope.
He died on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center 
in Mobile, Ala., surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Tammy and Michael Stevens of Waynesboro; 
his son, Parker Hayes Smith of Waynesboro; two brothers and a 
sister-in-law, Ty Allen and Maddy Smith and Michael Lavelle Stevens, 
Jr., all of Waynesboro; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Michaela 
Shyann and Mario Young of Cibolo, Texas, Carlin Marie and Austin 
Thornton of Waynesboro and Abbie Rose and Carson Smith of Waynesboro; 
his grandparents, Tony and Beverly Rigney, Larry and Mariea Stevens, Pam 
Cannon and Ann Larson, all of Waynesboro; a special uncle in "Mike Mike" 
Rigney of Waynesboro; his nephews, Mason Oliver Young and soon to arrive 
John Blake Smith; two uncles and their respective spouses, Lee Rigney 
and Chris and Doll Swindle; his aunt and her spouse, Shaunda and Joe 
Beltran; his cousins and their respective spouses, Dusty and Ema, Eli 
and Emily and Brayden; and a host of other family and friends.
