Funeral services for Olivia "Libby" Carney, 77, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022 from First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, with Dr. Steve Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Waynesboro.
Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Hebron Cemetery.
A Homemaker, she enjoyed sewing and adored her church family at First Baptist Church of Waynesboro. He loved her family, and her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was well known for her homemade cakes and delicious fried chicken. She was a loved Nanny in Decatur, Ala., to Forrest and Hunter Fletcher.
She died on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Joey and Kim Carney of Eupora and Johnny and Darlene Carney of Waynesboro; her sister, Charlotte Yelverton of Ellisville; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Martin and Marquerite Sumrall of Matherville, James and Vickie Sumrall of Wiggins, Samuel "Sammy" Sumrall of Waynesboro, Shelton and Vickie Sumrall of Crestview, Fla., and David and Phyllis Sumrall of Clara; four grandchildren, Lauren, Mason, Mackenzie and Drew; three great-grandchildren, Landon, Lainee and Remi Kate; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roan and Jessie McKee Sumrall; her husband, Bobby Carney; and three sisters, Martha Jones, Elsie Gatlin and Elaine Ingram.
Pallbearers will be Martin Sumrall, James Dale Sumrall, Shelton Sumrall, Samuel "Sammy" Sumrall, David Sumrall and Mike Walker. Her grandson, Mason Carney, will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
