Funeral services for Charles Timothy "Tim" Gunn, 70, of Spanish 
Fort, Ala., were conducted on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025 from 3 Circle 
Church, located at 10080 County Road 64 in Daphne, Ala., with graveside 
services following.
A native of Silas, Ala., Tim spent his career in Sales, retiring after 
30 years with Pitney Bowes before working another decades in the 
security industry. Throughout his career, he was known as a gifted and 
successful salesman, respected by colleagues and customers alike.
He was a devoted member of Circle 3 Church in Daphne, where his small 
group and Bible study community were an important part of his life and 
faith. The friendships and fellowship he found there deeply enriched his 
walks with Christ.
For Tim, nothing mattered more than family. His greatest joy was the 
love he shared with his wife and the family they built together. He 
filled his days with his grandchildren's sporting events and spending 
quality time together with them. He also loved hunting, fishing and 
traveling with close friends.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He died on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025 in Mobile, Ala., surrounded by his 
loving family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jamie Gunn; his sons and 
daughters-in-law, Peyton and Hilary Gunn and Ben and Karley Gunn; his 
cherished grandchildren, Evie, Luke, Amelia, Daniel and Anna; his 
brother, John Gunn; and his spoiled dog, Dudley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Rubye Gunn.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, 
SICU nurses and staff at Mobile infirmary for their exceptional care and 
kindness.

Funeral services for Marie Burgess, 87, of Waynesboro, were conducted on 
Monday, Aug. 18, 2025 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with Rev. 
Billy Trull and Rev. Larry Reynolds officiating. 
Interment followed at Buckatunna Free Will Baptist Cemetery in 
Buckatunna.
Born in Millry, Ala., on Monday, Nov. 8, 1937 to the late Frank Lee 
Tate, Sr., and Zoey Crane Tate, she was a member of Buckatunna Free Will 
Baptist Church. She worked as a Supervisor at Wells Lamont and later 
retired from NECO.
She died on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025 at her residence.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Allen and 
Patricia Burgess of Collins and Terry Joe and Jessie L. Burgess of 
Buckatunna; her daughter and son-in-law, Janie Burgess and Richard 
"Dickie" Fick of State Line; her brother and sister-in-law, Winston 
and Jane Tate of Jackson, Ala.; her sister and brother-in-law, Glendine 
and Odell Miller of Oxford; seven grandchildren and their respective 
spouses, Amanda and Neal Street, Travis and Chelcie Burgess, Taylor and 
Jasmine Brugess, Leslie and Mark Holder, Kelly and Phillip Dykes, T.J. 
and Andy Burgess and Justin L. and Angie Burgess; 14 great-gurndchildren 
and their respective spouses, Caleb and Abby, Brent, Jack, Sophie, 
Halle, Reaghan, Caroline, Carson, Jett, Ellie, Emmy, Andrew, John and 
James; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Burgess; her 
parents, Frank Lee Tate, Sr., and Zoey Crane Tate; two brothers, Frank 
Tate, Jr., and Roy Tate; and two sisters, Hazel Sells and Bertha Beech.

Funeral services for Cheryl A. Turner, 64, of Waynesboro, were conducted 
on Friday, Aug. 14, 2025 from St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, with 
Pastor Donale Miller officiating.
Interment followed at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Born on July 30, 1961, she was a Seamstress and a member of Circle #4 
and the Widows Friendship Club.
She died on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025 at Wayne General Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Turner; her daughter, Ashley Smith 
Woulard; her sister, Cora Shy; her brother and sister-in-law, Bennie and 
Charlotte Johnson; her sisters-in-law, Urma Johnson and Mildred and 
Charles Williamson; her grandchildren, Braxton Smith and Carter Smith; 
three godchildren, Jaria Rogers, Kacey Drummond and Ayden Woulard; her 
aunts and uncles; Bonnie and Grant Davis and Teresa Johnson; her 
extended daughter, Ashley B. Woulard; and a host of nieces, nephews, 
cousins, neighbors, caregivers, church family and many beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Annie Johnson; her 
son, Landrell Smith; and her brother, Lester Johnson.

JOHNNIE LEE BLAKELY
Aug. 20, 1937-July 31, 2025
Funerla services for Johnnie Lee Blakely, 87, of Waynesboro,w ere 
conducted on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025 from Old St. Paul Baptist Church, 
with Pastor John Gray officiating.
Interment followed at New St. Paul Cemetery.
Born on Aug. 20, 1937, he was best known for his hard work. He worked on 
the Alaskan Pipeline, poured asphalt and was a logger. He was great at 
any work he did.
He died on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
