THADDEUS NEWTON SHOWS
July 30, 2024
A private family gathering for Thaddeus Newton Shows, 88, of Lenoir
City, Tenn., and formerly of Columbia, will be conducted.
He was a long time member and elder of Columbia Presbyterian Church. He
enjoyed a successful career as a ground water geologist. He worked for
many years at Griner Drilling Service before setting up his own company
as a consulting geologist.
He was a long time board member of the Mississippi and National Rural
Water Association and also was a long time member of the Lions Club.
He died on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at his son's home.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thad and Karen Shows,
Jr.; his daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Lloyd Young; and many
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who enriched his life beyond
measure.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Seavey Shows; an
infant son, John R. Shows; and his sisters, Flora Goldstein and Ann
Lagerlef.
The family would like to express a special thanks to his caregivers:
Shannon, Jackie, Cricket, Dana and Shirley in Mississippi and Karen,
Jennifer and Ketha in Tennessee. Their love and compassionate care was a
blessing to him and his family.

Jan. 16, 1964-Aug. 4, 2024
Funeral services for Jason Waller, 60, of State Line, were conducted on
Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024 from the chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with
Rev. Edward Bean officiating.
Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.
Born in Laurel on Thursday, Jan. 16, 1964 to William Joseph Waller and
Edna Sue Westover Waller, he worked as a Consultant in the oil field
industry.
He died on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024 at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg,
surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tabitha
Hutchinson, Tiffany Waller and Brent Sturdivant and Tria Waller and Trey
Troney; his sister and brother-in-law, Jena and Jackie Benton; and six
grandchildren, Tinsley, Rylee, Jason Barrett, Karsyn, Aubree and Maisyn.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Waller; his
mother, Edna Sue Westover Waller; and his brother, Joey Waller.
Pallbearers were Eric Waller, Steve Waller, Josh Benton, Matt Walker,
Kiefer Waller and Brandon Waller.

JAMES D. STANLEY
April 3, 1969-July 30, 2024
Funeral services for James D. Stanley, 55, of Waynesboro, were conducted
on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with
Rev. Marvin Griffin officiating.
Interment followed at Henderson Cemetery in Greene County.
Born in Waynesboro on Thursday, April 3, 1969 to the late John Paul and
Arethia Stanley, he was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. He worked
as an Operator with Kelley Brothers Contractors, Inc.
He died on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Wayne General Hospital.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Cheri Stanley of
Waynesboro; his daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Greg Kirkland of
Waynesboro; his brother, Anthony Paul Stanley of Waynesboro; his sister
and brother-in-law, Roxanna Stanley and Otis Blackledge of Waynesboro;
his grandchildren, Brayden Clements, Ross Clements and Annah-Kayte
Clemets; and six nieces and nephews, D-Ann, Kallie, Miah, Amy, Malorie
and A.J.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

FRANKLIN LAMAR FROST
Dec. 11, 1960-July 25, 2024
Funeral services for Franklin Lamar Frost, 63, of Waynesboro, were
conducted on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024 from St. Luke Missionary Baptist
Church, with REe. Chris West officiating.
Interment followed at Waynesboro City Cemetery.
Born on Dec. 11, 1960, he worked for Blue Water Pools & Spa.
He died on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Wayne General Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Jean Frost; his mother, Velma Frost;
two sisters, Rosa Frost and Mary Davis; five brothers and two
sisters-in-law, Donald and Connie Frost, Scott and Tujuana Frost,
Anthony Davis and Author Davis; three brothers-in-law and their
respective spouses, Willie Fred and Tina, David and India and Anthony
and Lisa; four sisters-in-law, Tammy McDougle, Jackie McDougle,
Charlotte McDougle and Keri McDougle; five aunts, Angie Frost, Rosa L.
Frost, Martha Henderson, Annie Blackwell and Berniece Harris; an uncle,
Alfred Davis; a special friend, Big E; and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Shannon Hundley and Gerald
Frost; and a sister, Gayle Davis.
McDonald and Son Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of
arrangements.
AUDREY EDWARD SMITH
April 4, 1966-July 30, 2024
Funeral services for Audrey Edward Smith, 58, of Millry, Ala., were
conducted on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024 from Pine Tree Holiness Church in
Millry, with Rev. Ray Odom officiating.
Interment followed at Pine Tree Cemetery in Millry.
Born in Waynesboro on Monday, April 4, 1966 to Carlton Edward Smith,
Sr., and Betty Jean Smith, he retired as Owner and Operator of C & A
Scrap Metal.
He died on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Regina Smith of Millry; two daughters
and a son-in-law, Audriana Smith and Madison and Gideon Odom, all of
Millry; his son, Charlie Edward Smith of Millry; six grandchildren,
Clemens Odom, Emmit Odom, Ramsey Odom, Rhett Odom, Teilynn Guy and Mamie
Kate Guy; special family friend, Allen Darrell Guy; and numerous other
family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton Edward Smith, Sr., and
Betty Jean Smith; his brother, Carlton Edward Smith, Jr.; and two
sisters, Betty Carlene Smith and Cathy Jo Smith.
Pallbearers were Trey Gibson, Johnny Waite, Jeff Holder, Preston Jones,
Colby Smith, Michael Stevens, Jay B. Tate and Tyler Sullivan. Honorary
pallbearers were Shane Golemon, Luke Myers and Leon Henderson, Sr.
