JAMES BENNETT JOB

Dec. 28, 1938-May 25, 2024

Funeral services for James Bennett Job, 85, of Gautier, were conducted

on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with

Dr. Steve Bruns officiating.

Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery.

Born in Hackensack, N.J., on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 1938 to the late James

Bennett Job, Sr., and Thelma Theresa Job, he worked as the Director of

Transportation with Northern Electric Company in Waynesboro and retired

as Executive Director of Transportation with Sunbeam Oster Household

Products.

He will always be remembered for loving his family and providing for his

loving wife, children and grandchildren.

He died on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Ocean Springs Hospital in Ocean

Springs.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, June Job of Gautier and

formerly of Waynesboro; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Bennett

Job III of Latimer and Scott Owen and Evelyn Job of Ocean Springs; his

daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Victoria and Daniel Meador of Purvis;

two half-sisters, Rev. Jill Job Saxby of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and Judy

Pfeifer of Manassas, Va.; five grandchildren, Wesley Scott Job, Natalie

Grace Meader, Ethan Wayne Driver, Khloe Alexis Hall and Ava Grrace Hall;

his brother-in-law and his wife, Clifton and Betty Walker of Waynesboro;

and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Bennett Job, Sr., and

Thelma Theresa Job.

PATSY RUTH PITRE

Sept. 13, 1942-May 21, 2024

Funeral services for Patsy Ruth Pitre, 81, of Waynesboro, were conducted

on Friday, May 24, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with

Rev. Mitchell Smith officiating.

Entombment followed on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at St. Joseph Cemetery in

Galliano, La.

Born in Wayne County on Sunday, Sept. 13, 1942 to the late Joseph Wesley

and Selma Norsworthy Jones of State Line, in 1959 she graduated from

Clara School, where she was a member of the girls' basketball team and a

Varsity Cheerleader. After high school, she attended the University of

Southern Mississippi, where she received a Master's degree in Library

Science, which enabled her to return to her alma mater in Clara, where

she taught for many years, serving as Sponsor for Beta Club, Yearbook

and the Cheerleading Squad.

During the summer, she taught Library Science as an adjunct professor at

the University of Southern Mississippi and pursued her love of

photography, which developed into a new profession for her, resulting in

her photography studio, Four Seasons in Waynesboro.

When she closed her studio, she returned to the education system by

accepting a Librarian opening with the Heidelberg School System.

She died on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at her residence with her companion,

John Paul, by her side.

She is survived by her loving companion and caregiver, John Paul; her

brothers and sister-in-law, Duane and Glenda Jones and Joey Jones, all

of Huntington, Texas; her sisters-in-law, Lenette Pitre of Cut Off, La.,

and Ethel Jones of Bay Springs; her daughter-in-law, Angie Pitre of

Galliano; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Orville; and

sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Clifford Hough, Edna Earl and Max

Sims, Shelby and Harrol Gill and Linda and Herb Mosley; and her husband,

Len Pitre.
