POPLARVILLE — The War Eagles of WCHS are heading to the Class 5A Basketball Final Four.

WCHS (23-5) used a 13-0 run in the second quarter to take control of things before cruising to a 62-47 win over South Jones in the Class 5A quarterfinals. The win moves the War Eagles into a Final Four match up against Canton (25-4) Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. in the "Big House," the Jackson Coliseum.

The Braves beat WCHS in the second game of the season but Friday night was all War Eagles as the team reached the Final Four under Robbie Walters, who took the helm of the program late in the summer. WCHS won the regular season district title and the district tournament crown, then beat Natchez in a first-round playoff game before topping the Braves Friday night to earn a berth in Jackson.

The winner of Tuesday night's game will face the winner of the Provine (23-6)-Yazoo City (27-5) semifinal game.
