Lady War Eagles fall in quarterfinals

POPLARVILLE — Wayne County High School's girls basketball team dropped a 43-31 decision to Florence in the Class 5A quarterfinals at Pearl River Community College.

The loss finished the Lady War Eagles' season at 22-8. WCHS had finished as a No. 2 seed coming out of the district tournament and picked up a home win in the first round of the playoffs.

Submitted | The Wayne County News The Giving Tree for the Wayne General Hospital Foundation that is located in the main lobby of the hospital was recently named in honor of David and Sabrina Porter. The family and Southern Mississippi Trading, LLC, have made various donations to the Foundation, including enough to remodel maternity rooms and to purchase needed equipment for the hospital.
