BOBBIE FAYE DOUGLAS

July 25, 1941-Feb. 17, 2024

Graveside services for Bobbie Faye Douglas, 82, of Waynesboro, were

conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024 from Trinity First Baptist Cemetery

in Waynesboro, with Rev. Roger Douglas officiating.

Born in Wayne County on Friday, July 25, 1941 got the late Laudie

"Buddy" and Liza Pearlie Jones, she lived her life serving Jesus her

Savior and was a member of Trinity First Baptist Church. To know her was

to love her as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and

prayer warrior. She was adored by her children and she will be missed

very much by her family and friends.

She died on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by her

loving family.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children and their spouses,

Roger and Judy Douglas of Waynesboro, Michael Douglas of Foley, Ala.,

Kathy and Charlie Kelley of Waynesboro and Katie and Neil Stuckas of

Mobile, Ala.; her sister, Imogene Kelly of Waynesboro; two brothers,

Jessie Charles "J.C." Jones of the Myrick community and Billy Jones of

Waynesboro; six grandchildren and their respective spouses, Deric

Chapman, Lacie and Kendall Stennett, Sumerlea and John Sellers, Chaz

Stuckas, Jesse and Addie Kelley and Chance and Sara Kelley; 10

great-grandchildren and their respective spouses, Karleigh and Matthew

Stevens, Kaleigh Stennett, Kaston Stennett, Anna Grace Kelley, Charlie

Kate Kelley, Nathaniel Kelley, Lila Kelley, James Edward Sellers,

Credence Chapman and Ember Kelley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Douglas; her parents,

Laudie "Buddy" and Liza Pearlie Jones; her sister, Betty Jones Maxcey;

her brother, Eugene Jones; and her grandson, Jeremy Kelley.

NELDA JANIS SLATON

June 5, 1940-Feb. 15, 2024

Funeral services for Nelda Janis Slaton, 83, of Richton, were conducted

on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with

Rev. Evan Freeman officiating.

Interment followed at Corinth Cemetery in Wayne County.

Born in Waynesboro on Wednesday, June 5, 1940 to Chester H. Douglas and

Elsie Douglas, she was a member of Bethel Independent Church. She worked

in the Upholstery business.

She died on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024 at her residence.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Slaton of Richton; her sons

and daughters-in-law, Steve and Judy Roberts of Mannford, Okla., Michael

and Heather Roberts of Waynesboro and Randy and Butet Roberts of

Runnelstown; her daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and David McDonald of

Richton and Rita Roberts Partin of Sulphur, La.; her stepdaughters,

Debbie Barnett of Laurel and Lisa Ishee of Laurel; 23 grandchildren and

25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chester H. Douglas; her mother,

Elsie Douglas; her stepson, Danny Slaton; her brothers, Earnest Douglas,

C.H. Douglas, Delbert Henderson and Bilbo "Jiggs" Hendeson; her sister,

Sylvia Rager; her grandsons, Justin Roberts and A.J. Winstead; and her

great-grandchildren, Colton Daniels.

Pallbearers were Ryan Ishee, Jonah Roberts, Matt Roberts, Tyler Roberts,

Aidan Roberts and Robert Taylor.

WALTER FRANKLIN WILLIAMS

Nov. 25, 1936-Feb. 16, 2024

Funeral services for Walter Franklin Williams, 87, of Wayneboro, were

conducted on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral

Home, with Dr. Andy Olson officiating.

Interment followed at Waller Ridge Cemetery.

Born in Waynesboro on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1936 to the late Ford and

Flora Williams, he was a member of Abundant Life Church. He served in

the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Cold War. He retired as

a Road Superintendent with W.C. Pitts Construction.

He died on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Elowese Williams of Waynesboro; his son and

daughter-in-law, Trent and Dana Williams of Alabaster, Ala.; his

daughter, Lisa Pitts of Waynesboro; his stepson and his spouse, Keith

and Ruby Millican of Clara; three stepdaughters and their respective

spouses, Vickey Davis, Kathy and Fred Canfield and Jeanette Shirley, all

of Waynesboro; her sister, Polly Coleman of Waynesboro; and a host of

grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ford and Flora Williams; three

sons-in-law, Harold Pitts, Danice Davis and Brian Shirley; his brother,

Alfred Williams; and a sister, Virginia Melton.
