Stokley named Wayne County DYW

Mary Kate Stokley was named the 2025 Wayne County Distinguished Young Woman during Saturday night's program at Clara School.

Stokley beat out eight other contestants in the program that awarded a total of $97,800 in various scholarships and prizes.

Jenci Coxwell earned first alternate honors while Ella Revette was second alternate.

The Giving Tree for the Wayne General Hospital Foundation that is
located in the main lobby of the hospital was recently named in honor of
David and Sabrina Porter. The family and Southern Mississippi Trading,
LLC, have made various donations to the Foundation, including enough to
remodel maternity rooms and to purchase needed equipment for the
hospital.
