WILLIAM "GAP" WEST
Dec. 13, 1948-Feb. 10, 2024
Funeral services for William "Gap" West, 75, of Buckatunna, were
conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral
Home, with Rev. Steve Watts officiating.
Interment followed at Red Creek Cemetery in Wayne County.
Born in Waynesboro on Monday, Dec. 13, 1948 to the late Aden and Elvis
West, he was a member of Red Creek Church of God. He retired as a Diesel
Mechanic with Greenfield Transportation in Waynesboro.
He was known all over for making some of the best cane syrup with his
brothers and friends. He enjoyed spending time with everyone, sitting
around talking while his late wife and daughter provided breakfast. He
also enjoyed eating and making hot biscuits and fresh syrup. He loved
spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.
He died on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at Wayne General Hospital.
He is survived by his loving, devoted and spoiled daughter and her
spouse, Ashley and Joseph Carr of Buckatunna; three brothers and two
sisters-in-law, Sylvester West of Richton, Sol Allen and Lisa West and
Douglas Edward and Betty West, all of Buckatunna; his sister, Sylvia
Jean Sturdivant of Buckatunna; three grandchildren, Kaleb Carr, Zachary
"Jack" Carr and Annah Grace Carr, all of Buckatunna; and a host of
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie West; his parents, Aden and
Elvis West; and three brothers, Selwin West, Aden Nathaniel "Pop" West
and Grover Gene West.

ANNIE JEAN
(HOLLINGHEAD) CREAMER
July 3, 1935-Feb. 7, 2024
Funeral services for Annie Jean (Hollinghead) Creamer, 88, of Millry,
Ala., were conducted on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 from Chapel Hill Baptist
Church in Millry, with Rev. Ronnie Morris and Rev. Larry Daughtery
officiating.
Interment followed at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Millry.
Born in Millry on Wednesday, July 3, 1935 to Jerry and Eliza Wood
Hollinghead, she was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church. She retired
after working for 21 years with Scott Paper Company. After retiring, she
and her husband raised cattle and owned Copeland Grocery & Grill in
Copeland, Ala.
She died on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024 in Waynesboro. Her family will
always remember her as as a wonderful mother who will be greatly missed
by all.
She is survived by her son, Michael Hollinghead of Leesburg, Fla.; two
daughters and a son-in-law, Cynthia Robbie Hollinghead of Orange Beach,
Ala. and Donna and David Smith of Millry; her sister-in-law, Mavis
Hollinghead of Millry; and someone she loved as a special sister, Ada
Hollingshead of Millry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Creamer, Jr.; her
parents, Jerry and Eliza Wood Hollinghead; three brothers, Keith
Hollinghead, John L. Hollinghead and David Hollinghead; and six sisters,
Betty Taylor, Moggie Ferguson, Arbelle Chapman, Jessie Hollinghead,
Lorraine Westover and Nezzie Ivey.

March 25, 1939-Feb. 4, 2024
Funeral services for Mary Ellen Daw, 84, of Richton, were conducted on
Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024 from Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church in
Richton, with Rev. Shot Stinson officiating.
Interment followed at Mulberry Cemetery in Richton.
Born in Wayne County on Saturday, March 25, 1939 to Sam Pitts and Willie
Mae Pitts, she was a member of Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church. She
was a Homemaker and a retired Beautician.
She died on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, with her husband waiting for her.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Will Daw of
Waynesboro; her brother and sister-in-law, W.S. "Dub" and Sandra
Pitts of Richton; her sister and brother-in-law, Shelia and Don Hansen
of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren and their respective spouses,
Brandon and Melonee Crouse of Arizona, Monica and Tony Mitchell of
Richton, Myranda Green of Gulfport and Angela and Skylar Browne of
Virginia; 11 great-grandchildren, Brycen, Keyton, Veronica, Lyranda,
Benjamin, David, Marcus, Aiden, Paisen, Blakley and Sawyer; her
great-great-grandchild, Bryleigh; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Daw, Sr.; her daughter,
Shelia "Susie" Waites; her mother, Willie Mae Pitts; her father, Sam
Pitts; two brothers, G.W. "Bilbo" Pitts and Rudolph "Pete"
Pitts; and thee sisters, Otha Mae Edwards, Marrion Valentine and Carol
Smith.
The family would like to show gratitude to Compassus Hospice Care and
Greene County Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Tommie S. Anderson, 76, of Heidelberg, were
conducted on Monday, Jan. 29, 2024 from Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Bay
Springs, with Rev. Bill Myers and Rev. Mike Anderson officiating.
Interment followed at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Bay Springs.
Born in Bay Springs on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1947 to the late Thomas and
Louise Jones, she was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Bay
Springs.
She died on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 at South Central Regional Medical
Center in Laurel.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, James R. "Jim"
Anderson of Heidelberg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Tina
Stiles of Heidelberg and Brian K. and Misty Stiles of College Station,
Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Vivia and Joe Gatlin of Shubuta; her
sister and brother-in-law, Mira and Clark Street of Waynesboro; nine
grandchildren and their respective spouses, Brock Stiles, Ryder Stiles,
Presley Stiles, Jonathan and Tessa Windham, Shane and Teaira Windham,
Grant and Caity Gatlin, Gabi Gatlin, Makenna Gatlin and Justice Pitts;
five great-grandchildren, Anna, Griffin, Barrett, Niall and Parker;
three special friends, Phillip Wayne McMullen, George "Round Man"
Dugas and Tim Dyess; her sister-in-law, Helen Keyes; her brother-in-law,
Timothy Anderson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Louise Jones; her
granddaughter, Emily Gatlin; and her great-granddaughter, Shaylene
Gatlin.
