Funeral services for Lesia Everett, 60, of Waynesboro, will be at 1 p.m.
on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024 from Sweet Hope Missionary Baptist Church,
with Minister Chris Dukes officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m.
on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.
Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Waynesboro
Cemetery.
Born on Aug. 4, 1963, she was a Homemaker.
She died on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024 at Ochsner Rush Health in Meridian.
She is survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Curtis Leroy
and Lashunda Everett, Kenneth Everett and Timothy Lee and Merrolyn
Everett of Waynesboro; and three sisters, Debra Louise Whitfield, Tina
R. Everett and Shretta Everett of Waynesboro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

Funeral services for Alvin Campbell, 67, of Quitman, were conducted on
Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024 from Zion Chapel U.M. Church in the Crandall
community of Quitman, with Rev. Larry McKenzie officiating.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Born on April 3, 1956, he was an Owner in the timber business.

Funeral services for James Ray Johnson, 87, of Waynesboro, were
conducted on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral
Home, with Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating.
Interment followed at Shirley Place Cemetery in Wayne County.
Born in Atmore, Ala., on Thursday, Jan. 30, 1936 to the late James
Marvin and Burlie Johnson, he retired as a Box Maker for Mississippi
Fine Products.
He died on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 at his residence with his daughter
and son-in-law by his side.
He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Laetreta Johnson
Waites, Debbie and Steven Richards and Marticia and Randy Holifield, all
of Waynesboro; his sister, Olga Barton of Summerdale, Ala.; 10
grandchildren, Ray Ray, Clifton, Kevin, Kayla, Bethany, Amanda, Krystal,
Dustin, Chasity and Hunter; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura G. Johnson; his parents,
James Marvin and Burlie Johnson; two sons, Keith Ray Johnson and Ricky
Johnson; two brothers, Robert Johnson and Fred Johnson; four sisters,
Frances Barber, Clementine Carroway, Doris McNeil and Lucille Cossley;
and a son-in-law, Juston Waites.

Funeral services for Patricia Ann Malone, 64, of Waynebsoro, were
conducted on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral
Home, with Brother Jody Smith officiating.
Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Born in Laurel on Monday, Nov. 30, 1959 to Voyde Quinton Newburn and
Martha Louise Newburn, she was a member of New Hope Methodist Church.
She worked as a Cafeteria Worker and School Bus Driver with the Wayne
County School District for 25 years.
She died on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024 at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile, Ala.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roger David Malone of
Waynesboro; her son and daughter-in-law, Shane David and Cloie Malone of
Waynesboro; her daughter, Tanya Ann Parnell of Leakesville; four
grandchildren, Austin Malone, Cameron Parnell, Tracy Willmon and Sophia
Underwood; a great-grandchild, Jameson Malone; her brothers, Voyde
Quinton Newburn of Waynesboro and Jacky Lynn Newburn of Richlands, NC;
and a sister, Christina Louise Newburn of Waynesboro.
Pallbearers were Shawn Newburn, Ross Parker, Gary Malone, Keith Lane,
Michael Taylor, Judson Taylor, Terry Hassebrock and Cole Hassebrock.

Born in Waynesboro on Wednesday, June 3, 1970 to Ralph Gardner, Sr., and
Elizabeth T. Gardner, he worked as an Oil Field Consultant with D.M.I.C.
Petroleum.
He died on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024 at his residence.
He is survived by his parents, Ralph Gardner, Sr., and Elizabeth T.
Gardner of Buckatunna; his wife, Brandice Marie Hendershott of
Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Parris Gardner of Waynesboro and Vegas
Gage Gardner of Jacksonville; two daughters, Carrie Taylor Gardner and
Katherine Gardner, both of Buckatunna; and five grandchildren.

Born on Dec. 3, 1927, she was a former Driver in the medical transport
industry. She was a member of the Quilting Club, MS Homemaker Volunteers
with the Wayne County Extension Office, the AARP Chapter, the Widow's
Club and Eastern Star.
She died on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023 at Wayne General Hospital.
She is survived by her son, James Cooley; her daughter and son-in-law,
Cassandra and Rev. James Payton; two grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother and two
sisters.
