Funeral services for Billy Ray Mason, 77, of Waynesboro, will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Moore and Rev. Jason Sehon officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021 from the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Water Oak Cemetery.

Born in Waynesboro on Thursday, Oct. 26, 1944 to Obie Mason and Stella Mason, he was a devoted member and Deacon of Water Oak Baptist Church. He served in the Mississippi Army National Guard from 1966-1972 and was retired from Ingalls Shipyard, where he worked as a Carpenter Foreman.

He died on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Mason; his son and daughter-in-law, Will and LaDonna Mason of Clara; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Ray Henderson and Teresa and Mike Newell, all of Clara; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Morris and Janet Mason of Clara, Charlie and Janice Mason of Chicora and Ronnie and Melissa Mason of Clara; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Dora Ross and Debbie McIlwain, both of Waynesboro, and Paula and Randy Trigg of Clara; six grandchildren, Savana Mason, Bryce Mason, Bo Henderson, Ashlyn Henderson, Mikayla Newell and Joseph Newell, all of Clara; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Obie Mason; his mother, Stella Mason; and a sister, Betty Rae Malley.

Funeral services for Eula Rae Cochran, 81, of Richton, were conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021 from the Chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton, with Brother Buddy Smith and Brother Evans Freeman officiating.

Interment followed at Henderson Cemetery.

She died on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Nicky and Mary Helen Cochran of Richton; her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jerry Malone of Waynesboro; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean and Joe hinton of Runnelstown and June Smith of Sand Hill; her grandchildren and their respective spouses, Monica Malone of Neely, Rachel and Brian Bishop of Waynesboro, Stephanie Malone of Waynesboro and George Cochran of Waynesboro; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Cochran; her parents, Jim and Grace White; a daughter, Patricia Cochran; six brothers and sisters; and her great-granddaughter, Danica Henderson.

THOMAS H. "BUD" HUDSON

July 15, 1947-Dec. 9, 2021

Funeral services for Thomas H. "Bud" Hudson, 74, of Waynesboro, were conducted on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with Rev. Jesse Long III officiating.

Interment followed at Bud Hudson Cemetery.

Born in Laurel on Tuesday, July 15, 1947 to Rufus Hudson and Flora Hudson, he was a member of Faith Chapel Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army Reserve and had worked as a Supervisor with Clarkco Oilfield Services, Inc.

He died on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Laverne Hudson; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Karen Hudson, of Clara; his brother, Howard Hudson of Clara; four sisters, Betty Bunch of Waynesboro, Frances Algam of Plano, Texas, Aniece Hollinghead of Clara and Sharon Dearmon of Waynesboro; three grandchildren and their respective spouses, Andrew Hudson of Clara, Jaclyn Busby of Beat Four, and Hannah and Austin Dossey of Mount Olive; and a great-grandson, Mayson Brooks of Mount Olive.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Hudson; his mother, Flora Hudson; two brothers, Herman Hudson and Haskel Hudson; his sister, Debra Pittman; and a grandson, Jeffrey Hudson, Jr.

BILLY WAYNE PRINE

April 12, 1958-Dec. 13, 2021

Billy Wayne Prine, 63, of Waynesboro, died on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

He was born in Columbia on Saturday, April 12, 1958 to Alcus Prine and Ethel Prine. He had worked as a Truck Driver.

He is survived by his son, Jason Prine; two daughters, Alisha Prine and Crissy Prine; his brother, Terry Prine of Hattiesburg; three sisters, Thelma Locke of Waynesboro, Eva Brasseaux of Carville, La., and Melinda Ailva of Califronia; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alcus Prine; his mother, Ethel Prine; his brother, Eugene Prine; and three sisters, Betty Williamson, Patricia Murray and Louise Carter.
