RUBY WINTERS

Oct. 20, 1936-Sept. 28, 2023

A private burial for Ruby Winters, 86, of Waynesboro, will be conducted

by her family in Providence Cemetery in Carmichael.

Born in Quitman on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1936 to the late Ernest Windham and

Flora Johnson Ivy, she was retired as a Co-Owner and Operator of

Winter's Marina in Satsuma, Ala.

She died on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023 at Wayne General Hospital.

She is survived by her sons, Keith Winters and Stan Trigg of Waynesboro;

her grandsons, Ryan Fitzgerald of Lilburn, Ga., and Ty Urpshot of

Clayton, Ga.; and her daughter, Renee Urpshot of Chattanooga, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Winters; he parents,

Ernest Windham and Flora Johnson; and her twin sister, Ella Parnell.

DETRICH LYNN STANLEY

Nov. 3, 1957-Sept. 25, 2023

Funeral services for Detrich Lynn Stanley, 65, of Waynesboro, were

conducted on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral

Home, with Dr. Stephen Smith officiating.

Interment followed at Clear Creek Cemetery in Shubuta.

Born in Waynesboro on Sunday, Nov. 3, 1957 to Lewis E. "Pete" Stanley

and Jimmie Carolyn Kirkland, she was a member of Clear Creek Baptist

Church. She worked as an Office Clerk.

She died on Monday, Sept. 25, 2023 at Regency Hospital-Meridian.

She is survived by her mother, Jimmie Carolyn Kirkland of Waynesboro;

her daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Jerry Pitts of Waynesboro; two

sisters and a brother-in-law, Shelia Freeman of Waynesboro and Tammy and

Bill Raines of Baton Rouge, La.; two grandchildren, Jon Michael Pitts

and Emily Pitts, both of Waynesboro; two nephews, Chad Stanley of

Waynesboro and Conner Raines of Baton Rouge; two nieces and their

respective spouses, Natalie and Mark Davis of Shubuta and Haley Raines

of Baton Rouge; a great-nephew and his spouse, Kade and Brook Davis of

Shubuta; and a great-niece, Presley Davis of Shubuta.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis E. "Pete" Stanley.

Pallbearers were Jerry Pitts, Jon Michael Pitts, Mark Davis, Kade Davis,

Chad Stanley and Bill Raines.
