UPDATE — Missing teen still being sought
The Waynesboro Police Department has obtained better photos of both the missing teenager and the car he got into in the hopes of locating him.
Abdul Mohsin Mohamed, 17, was reported missing Sunday night. He was last seen leaving King Smokers on Mississippi Drive around 8 p.m. Sunday heading to the Burger King located just up the road. He never arrived at Burger King and has not been seen nor heard from since that time.
Wednesday night, WPD Investigations Commander Lieutenant Don Hopkins shared a video with media taken from a surveillance camera in the parking lot of Herbert's Mart. The video shows Mohamed walking up to a small silver or light grade colored two-door car, opening the passenger door, getting in and closing the door. The driver then backs out and they travel east on Robinson Street. Hopkins has now provided a better photo of the vehicle, which is described as a silver or light grey two-door with front and rear license plates with unknown numbers.
Mohamed is described as 5-foot, 10-inches tall weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has black curly hair in an afro style that is shoulder length and bushy. He is described as having a thin build.
"There is still no word on his whereabouts," Hopkins said. "We are expecting more video any day now from a different source that should give us a 360-degree and clearer view of him and the car he got into."
Anyone locating Mohamed --- or having information about his whereabouts or his disappearance --- is asked to contact Hopkins at 601-735-2323. When the phone is answered, simply ask to be connected with Hopkins.
"Call our dispatch center 24/7 and they will patch you though to my phone," Hopkins said. "Our search for you will not stop until you are located."
