The Waynesboro Police Department is circulating a surveillance video it hopes can lead to finding a 17-year-old teenager who has been missing since Sunday night.
Abdul Mohsin Mohamed, 17, was reported missing Sunday night. He was last seen leaving King Smokers on Mississippi Drive around 8 p.m. Sunday heading to the Burger King located just up the road. He never arrived at Burger King and has not been seen nor heard from since that time.
Wednesday night, WPD Investigations Commander Lieutenant Don Hopkins shared a video with media taken from a surveillance camera in the parking lot of Herbert's Mart. The video shows Mohamed walking up to a small silver or light grade colored two-door car, opening the passenger door, getting in and closing the door. The driver then backs out and they travel east on Robinson Street.
Mohamed is described as 5-foot, 10-inches tall weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has black curly hair in an afro style that is shoulder length and bushy. He is described as having a thin build.
"If anyone knows anything about where Mohamed may be, please contact us," Hopkins said. "To Abdul Mosin Mohamed, please contact the Waynesboro Police Department. YHour parents are extremely worried and concerned about you and only desire to know that you are safe and not in any danger."
Family members traveled from California on Wednesday to possibly assist officials in finding the teenager.
Anyone locating Mohamed --- or having information about his whereabouts or his disappearance --- is asked to contact Hopkins at 601-735-2323. When the phone is answered, simply ask to be connected with Hopkins.
"Call our dispatch center 24/7 and they will patch you though to my phone," Hopkins said. "Our search for you will not stop until you are located."
