Friday night shooting at club wounds one

The Waynesboro Police Department is investigating a Friday night
shooting that left one person injured.
According to WPD Investigations Commander Don Hopkins, a shooting
occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday at the Cornfield Club. A 25-year-old
black male was struck by gunfire in his upper left arm and transported
by personal vehicle to Wayne General Hospital, where he was treated and
kept overnight for observation.
The injures were non-life threatening.
"The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Cornfield Club,"
Hopkins said. "There are no known witnesses to the shooting, nor anyone
identified as standing outside who could identify who the shooter was.
"A suspected vehicle was vaguely identified as fleeing the area, but the
drive and or occupants remain unknown."
