DONALD BRUCE SMITH

Funeral services for Donald Bruce Smith, 71, of Waynesboro were
conducted on Monday, April 17, 2023 from Southern Methodist Church in
Waynesboro, with Rev. Tommy Davis officiating.
Interment followed at Shirley Place Cemetery in Wayne County.
Born in Oilton, Okla., on Friday, May 4, 1951 to the late Leslie and
Opal Smith, he was a member of Southern Methodist Church of Waynesboro.
He retired as a Nuclear Medical Technologist with Gulfport Memorial
Hospital.
He died on Friday, April 14, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his
loving family.
He is survived his loving wife of 47 years, Cathy Smith of Waynesboro;
his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Robin Smith, Jr., of Niles,
Ohio; two daughters and a son-in-law, Paula Stephenson of Warren, Ohio
and Kristie and Jeremy Harrison of Hattiesburg; a sister and
brother-in-law, June and Jimmy Warden of Gulfport; nine grandchildren,
Caitlyn, Alex, Addison, Danny, James, Trey, Jaxon, Makenzie and Hannah;
and two great-grandchildren, Waylon and Westen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Opal Smith; his
son-in-law, Jeff Stephenson; two sisters, Erma Gilreath and Norma
Brashears; and a grandson, Lucas Smith.

VIRGINIA RICHARDSON GRAYSON
Sept. 27, 1938-April 12, 2023
Funeral services for Virginia Richardson Grayson, 84, of Waynesboro,
were conducted on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from Wright's Funeral Home
Chapel, with Rev. Dennis Coats officiating.
Interment followed at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Quitman.
Born in Stonewall on Sept. 27, 1938 to Charlie and Onie (Satcher)
Richardson, she died on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at her residence.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam Grayson and Gary
Malone; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kelly Jon Grayson and Dave
Gerald and Lisa Grayson; her sister, Mamie Lois Carmichael; 12
grandchildren, Chad, Jennifer Aaron, Lindsey, Cade, Amber, Garrick,
Kevin, Megean, Dylan, Thomas and Anna Claire; and nine
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Oscar Richardson; her
mother, Onie Amelia Richardson; the father of her children, Gerald
Grayson; a son, Gary Mark Grayson; her brother, Charles Ray Richardson;
a daughter-in-law, Sharon Grayson; and a brother-in-law, Aubrey R.
"Cobb" Carmichael.

Funeral services for James H. Davis, 88, of Waynesboro, were conducted
on Friday, April 14, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with
Rev. Charles Allbrooks officiating.
Interment followed at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Born in Waynesboro on Monday, April 1, 1935 to James A. Davis and Dora
Davis, he was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a retired
Automotive Mechanic.
He died on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Pine View Health and
Rehabilitation.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Lesia Davis
and Aubrey and Alesia Davis, all of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, James
Eric Davis, Jada Leann Lowe, Wesley Kent Davis, Amy Leigh Greenwood,
Jamie Lynn Tubbs and Jeremy Myles Davis; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Davis; his father, James
A. Davis; his mother, Dora Davis; a son, James Mitchell Davis; his
brother, Dempsey Davis; and two sisters, Daisy Cochran and Maddie
Patrick.

Funeral services for Van Earl Strickland, 63, of Buckatunna, were
conducted on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman
Funerlal Home, with Rev. Michael Stevenson officiating.
Interment followed at Johnson Creek Cemetery in State Line.
Born in Waynesboro on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1959 to Van R. Strickland and
Earline Strickland, he was a member of State Line First Baptist Church.
He served in the United States National Guard and had worked as a Truck
Driver.
He died on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital in
Hattiesburg.
He is survived by his father, Van R. Strickland, and his mother, Earline
Strickland, both of State Line; two brothers, Leon Strickland of La
Porte, Texas and Clarence Dwayne Strickland of Fernley, Nev.; and three
sisters, Patricia Crager of State Line, Anita Davis of Matherville and
Rhonda Dyess of Buckatunna.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gail Strickland.

Funeral services for Willie Ray Davis, 78, of Waynesboro, were conducted
on Friday, April 7, 2023 from Big Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Matt
Olson officiating.
Interment followed at White House Cemetery.
Born in Waynesboro on Monday, July 3, 1944 to Columbus Davis and Eula
Davis, he was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. He was retired as a
Team Leader/Supervisor with Northern Electric Company.
He died on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Brookwood Villa Personal Care
Home.,
He is survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Willard Davis
of Clara, Waymon and Ruby Davis of Clara and William T. and Marcell
Davis of Waynesboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Evon and Gaston
Hutcherson of Clara; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Columbus Davis; his mother, Eula
Davis; and an infant brother.
Pallbearers were Jason Davis, Ben Davis, Kevin Davis, Jamie West, Joshua
Nicholson and Jason Holmes.

Funeral services for Jennifer Lynn Mosley, 56, of Eucutta, were
conducted on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral
Home, with Rev. Pat Patterson and Rev. Mickey Walls officiating.
Interment followed at Goodwater Cemetery in Clarke County.
Born in Hattiesburg on Nov. 18, 1966 to James Watkins and Juanell
Watkins, she was a member of Eucutta Independent Church. She worked as
an Accountant with Whitestone Transportation.
She died on April 4, 2023 at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Mosley of Eucutta; her mother,
Juanell Watkins of Bolinger, Ala.; two sons, Heath Mosley and Seth
Mosley, both of Eucutta; a daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Shawn
Thornton of Yellow Pine, Ala.; two brothers, Austin Watkins of Bolinger
and Andy Watkins of Pensacola, Fla.; and two grandsons, Eric Thornton
and Ethan Thornton, both of Yellow Pine.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Watkins, and a son, Eric
Mosley.
Pallbearers were John Green, Dillon Green, Luke Green, Eric Thornton,
Scott Lofton, Dewayne Pryor, Shawn Thornton and Ethan Thornton.
