NOLA GRACE OVERSTREET
Sept. 9, 1937-April 9, 2023
Graveside services for Nola Grace Overstreet, 85, of Buckatunna, were
conducted on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from Zion Rest Cemetery in
Buckatunna, with Rev. Steve Watts and Rev. Ken Beasley officiating.
Born in Waynesboro on Thursday, Sept. 9, 1937 to the late Grover and
Nola Mae Hollingshead, she was a member of Red Creek Church of God. She
retired form the La Porte School System, where she worked in food
services. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Wayne General Hospital for
20 years.
She died on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Washington County Nursing Home in
Chatom, Ala.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Cecil Craig and
Patrick Lyn Overstreet of Arlington, Mass., and Grover Scott Overstreet
of Mobile, Ala.; her special devoted friend, Curly West of Waynesboro;
her brother and sister-in-law, R.P. and Vera Hollingshead of Waynesboro;
five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two
great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Arnold Overstreet; her
parents, Grover and Nola Mae Hollingshead; three brothers, Trutt
Hollingshead, Carlis "C.C." Hollingshead and Jefferson Hollingshead; six
sisters, Ena Taylor, Lena Smith, Ruth Williams, Edith Taylor, Fannie
Taylor and Priscilla Hollingshead; and a great-grandson, Lawson Brooks
Lee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pink Lady Scholarship
Fund at Wayne General Hospital.

JENNIFER LYNN MOSLEY
Nov. 18, 1966-April 4, 2023
Funeral services for Jennifer Lynn Mosley, 56, of Eucutta, were
conducted on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral
Home, with Rev. Pat Patterson and Rev. Mickey Walls officiating.
Interment followed at Goodwater Cemetery in Clarke County.
Born in Hattiesburg on Nov. 18, 1966 to James Watkins and Juanell
Watkins, she was a member of Eucutta Independent Church. She worked as
an Accountant with Whitestone Transportation.
She died on April 4, 2023 at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Mosley of Eucutta; her mother,
Juanell Watkins of Bolinger, Ala.; two sons, Heath Mosley and Seth
Mosley, both of Eucutta; a daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Shawn
Thornton of Yellow Pine, Ala.; two brothers, Austin Watkins of Bolinger
and Andy Watkins of Pensacola, Fla.; and two grandsons, Eric Thornton
and Ethan Thornton, both of Yellow Pine.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Watkins, and a son, Eric
Mosley.
Pallbearers were John Green, Dillon Green, Luke Green, Eric Thornton,
Scott Lofton, Dewayne Pryor, Shawn Thornton and Ethan Thornton.

CAROL PLATT BUSBY
Nov. 13, 1951-April 4, 2023
Funeral services for Carol Platt Busby, 71, of Waynesboro, were
conducted on Friday, April 7, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral
Home, with Dr. Steven Bruns officiating.
Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.
Born in Laurel on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 1951 to Lamar and Maxine Platt, she
graduated from Waynesboro Central High School in 1969 and later became a
member of the first graduating class of dental hygienists from the
University of Mississippi Medical Center.
She married Arthur George Busby III on June 10, 1972. She retired as a
Dental Hygienist and well as Co-Owner of Busby's Garden Center and
Landscaping in Waynesboro. She was a member of First United Methodist
Church for more than 40 years.
She died on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Asbury Hospice Facility in
Hattiesburg.
She is survived by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Arthur
George Busby III; two daughters and a son-in-law, Nicole Marasca of
Mobile, Ala., and Blair and John Dolan of Ellisville; two
granddaughters, Emma Marascca of Mobile and Kinsley Doland of
Ellisville; her sister-in-law, Marion Ann Busby Poirier of Hattiesburg;
a niece and her spouse, Michelle Poirier and Jody Varner of Jackson; a
nephew, Robert Poirier of Atlanta, Ga.; a great-niece and three
great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lamar and Maxine Platt; her
brother, Jerry Platt; and her mother-in-law, Marion Busby Stevens.
Pallbearer were Frank Johnston, Clayton Rainwater, Ben Graves, Dan
Lomax, Timothy Anderson and John Dolan. Honorary pallbearers were Doug
and Wilda Everitt. Also serving as honorary pallbearers were The Great
Eight Social Group, including Hope Johnston, Julia Waller, Sherry Clark,
Barbara Graves, Mary Jo Britton, Louise Rainwater and Bibba Hertz.
