STANCE DAVIS, JR.

July 1, 1943-March 12, 2023

Graveside services for Stance Davis, Jr., 79, of Waynesboro, were

conducted on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from Memorial Gardens in Laurel

with Rev. Marvin Griffin officiating.

Born in Waynesboro on Thursday, July 1, 1943 to the late Stance Davis,

Sr., and Candace Pinky Davis, he was a member of Maynor Creek Assembly

of God Church. He was retired as a Drilling Superintendent for Nabors

Drilling.

He died on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Care Center of Laurel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Davis of

Waynesboro; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Darrell Mills of

Clara, Carol Anne and Clay Ferguson and Regina and Rev. Marvin Griffin,

all of Beat Four; three sisters, Imogene Anderson of Waynesboro, Jewel

Bailey of Las Vegas, Nev., and Irene Davis of Ellisville; four

grandchildren and their respective spouses, Stephanie Myers, Kayla and

Perry Snyder, Staca and Dillon Lee and Savannah and Jeremy Walker; and

six great-grandchildren, Levi Myes, Scarlett Ballard, James Allen

Snyder, Katie Lee, CaAnna Lee and Jonathan Lee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stance Davis, Sr., and Candace

Pinky Davis.

Pallbearers were Terry Bush, Benny West, Dillon Lee, Darrell Mills,

Billy Dale Parks and Gary West. Honorary pallbearer was Perry Snyder.

WILLIAM "LANCE" TATE

Oct. 13, 1976-March 10, 2023

Funeral services for William "Lance" Tate, 46, of Waynesboro, were

conducted on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral

Home, with Rev. John Brown officiating.

Interment followed at Winchester Cemetery.

Born in Waynesboro on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1976 to William and Pat Tate,

he was an avid Alabama fan. He graduated from Wayne Academy in 1995

where he played football --- and represented W.A. in the All-Star

Football Game in his senior year --- along with playing basketball and

baseball. He went on to attend Jones Junior College and Delta State

University, where he played football for both schools.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, mostly playing softball with his

brother Josh and friends. His favorite thing to do on a daily basis was

to spend time with his son, Noah. He worked as a Pipe Fitter and became

a Quality Control Manager with Westcon, Inc.

He died on Friday, March 10, 2023 at his residence.

He is survived by his mother, Pat Tate of Waynesboro; his son, Noah Aden

Tate of Waynesboro; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Melissa

Thornton of Buckatunna and Joshua and Aleshia Tate of Waynesboro.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Tate; and two brothers,

Michael Blackburn and Russell Tate.

O.W. WALKER

Jan. 20, 1931-March 9, 2023

Funeral services for O.W. Walker, 92, of Waynesboro, were conducted on

Sunday, March 12, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with

Rev. Matthew Runnels and Rev. Tim Cleveland officiating.

Interment followed at Willie McCarty Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Born in Waynesboro on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1931 to the late Bidmer and

Marie Walker, he served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of

the Korean Conflict. A member of Pleasant Ridge Assembly of God Church,

he was retired as a Self-Employed Carpenter.

He died on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by two son and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Lidna Walker

of Waynesboro and John and Ann Walker of Brandon; a brother and

sister-in-law, Bidmer Ray and Linda Walker of Waynesboro; three

grandchildren and their respective spouses, Tiffany Walker and Rebekah

and Josh Whatley, all of Brandon, and Dylan Walker of Waynesboro; and a

great-grandson, Walker Joe Whatley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Zola Walker; his parents, Bidmer

and Marie Walker; a brother, James Walker; and his sister, Margie Walker

Hartley.

ANNIE ELZADA RAWSON

March 26, 1939-March 8, 2023

Funeral services for Annie Elzada Rawson, 83, of Waynesboro were

conducted on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral

Home, with Rev. Ronnie Jarman, Rev. David Tennyson, Rev. Nick Holifield

and Rev. Jim Koen officiating.

Interment followed at Boyles Chapel Cemetery.

Born in Copeland, Ala., on Sunday, March 26, 1939 to the late Willis

Harris, Sr., and Erma Harris, she was a member of Waynesboro First

Assembly of God Church. She was retired as a Self-Employed

Cosmetologist.

She died on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her

loving family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Henry Dwayne and Karen

Rawson of Waynesboro; her daughter, Angela Rawson Atchison of

Waynesboro; her brother and sister-in-law, PReston and Judy Harris, Jr.,

of Mobile, Ala.; her sister, Ruth Kendrick of Buckatunna; five

grandchildren and their respective spouses, Jason and Ana Rawson, Jeremy

Rawson, Holley and John Lewis, Andrea Atchison and Morgan Atchison; and

four great-grandchildren, Remy Rawson, Dax Henderson, Asher Atchison and

Miles Rawson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. Rawson; her parents,

Willis Harris, Sr., and Erma Harrison; a son, Willis Patrick Rawson;

four brothers, Winston Harris, Henry Evans Harris, Thurston Harris and

Clarence Edward Murry; and five sisters, Juanita Harris, Etheline

Stinson, Pauline Ready, Maxine McInnis and Mattie Mae Bronson.
