ALINE BURGESS RIGNEY

Graveside services for Aline Burgess Rigney, 81, of Waynesboro, were
conducted on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023 from Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, with Rev.
Larry Reynolds officiating.
Born in Greene County on Monday, April 28, 1941 to the late William
Claude Burgess and Vermell Burgess, she was a member of Buckatunna Free
Will Baptist Church. She was retired as a Line Worker with Wells Lamont
Glove Factory.
She died on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her
loving family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John Paul Rigney; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Tommy Kelley and Tamara and Larry
Roach, all of Waynesboro; her brother, J.C. "Bud" Burgess of Buckatunna;
her sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and James Snellgrove of Shubuta;
three grandchildren and their respective spouses, Jona and Corey Stevens
of Waynesboro, Megan and Corey Hancock of Starkville and Toby and Kalin
Roach of Fairhope, Ala.; and three great-grandchildren, Reese, Brantley
and Millie Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Claude Burgess and
Vermell Burgess; a daughter, Sherline Rigney; two brothers, William
"Vardie" Burgess and John Allen Burgess; and five sisters, Zelina
Rainwater, Mary Lynn Mayo, Glendine Holliman, Texine Smith and Azaline
Bonner.
