Funeral services for Jacquelyn Coleman-Parnell, 69, of Douglasville,

Ga., and formerly of Waynesboro, were conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 4,

2023 from St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. George W. Tyler

and Rev. Donald E. Miller officiating.

Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.

Born on Sept. 16, 1953, she was a retired Teacher with the Wayne County

School District.

She died on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022 at her residence.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Rev. Cynthia Parnell

and Brad McDonald, Ph.D. and Anita Michelle Parnell; a sister, Brenda

Ann Coleman-Williamson; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded death by her parents, her husband and a daughter.

Funeral services for Chauncey "Cam" Carter, 25, of Waynesboro were

conducted on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 from New Vision Missionary Baptist

Church, with Rev. Semiko Moody officiating.

Interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery.

Born Oct. 10, 1997, he worked at Scotch Plywood.

He died on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022 at his residence.

He is survived by three sons, Kaleb Johnson, Keastyn Powe and Chandler

Donald; three daughters, Londyn Carter, Kamryn Sims and Royalty Powe; an

unborn daughter, Kehlani; two brothers, Geovontae Carter and Bobby

McDonald; four sisters, Delayshia Morgan, Braleigh White, Bronze

McDonald and Zantavia Ruffin; his parents, Cassandra Carter and Bobby

(LaQuisha Cook) McDonald; his godfather, Patrick Ruffin; his

grandfathers, William Lee Davis and Bobby L. Gray; and his grandmother,

Lula Ruffin.

He was preceded in death by two grandmothers, his great-grandmother and

an uncle.

Graveside services for Tiera Gambriel Harris, 16, of Waynesboro were

conducted on Friday, Dec. 30, 2022 from State Line Cemetery, with Rev.

W.E. Rankins officiating.

Born on Feb. 7, 2006, she was a High School Student.

She died on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022 in Waynesboro.

She is survived by her daughter, Alayah De'arra Harris; two sisters,

Ciera and Kiera Harris; her parents, Cindy and Anthony Harris; and her

grandparents, Tommie and Mattie McGay and Rose Marie McGill.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal

great-grandparents, two grandfathers and a cousin.

STEVIE L. HARRIS

Funeral services for Stevie L. Harris, 56, of Waynesboro were conducted

on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022 from Pineville Missionary Baptist Church,

with Rev. Samuel C. Newton officiating.

Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Born on Nov. 13, 1996, he worked at Hood Industries. He was a member of

Pineville Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Mass

Choir and Male Choir, along with being a member of the Gospel Echoes.

He died on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital in

Hattiesburg.

He is survived by his wife, Lyndia Bishop Harris of Waynesboro; two

sons, Stetson Russell of Meridian and Colton Sims-Harris of Waynesboro;

a stepson and his spouse, John K. and Teanna Gray, Jr.; two daughters,

Brandi and Brandishia Hinton, both of Jackson; a stepdaughter and her

spouse, Lyndretta and Stephanio Gandy; three brothers, Pervis, Wilford

and Marvin Powe, all of Waynesboro; four sisters and a brother-in-law,

Jacquelin and Willie Thomas Henderson and Ovida Harris, all of

Waynesboro, and Marilyn Smith and Belinda Harris, both of Atlanta, Ga.;

and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Born on Aug. 9, 1936, she died on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022 at Pine View

Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro.

She is survived by two nephews, two great-nieces, a great-nephew and six

great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services for Mattie Simpson, 93, of State Line, were conducted

on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022 from Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, with Rev.

W.E. Rankins officiating.

Interment followed at State Line Cemetery.

Born on Nov. 19, 1929, she was a retired employee from the veneer

industry.

She died on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022 at Jones County Nursing Home in

Ellisville.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred and Susie

Simpson of State Line and Claude and Carla Simpson of San Diego, Calif.;

a "bonus son," William Oscar, Jr., of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters

and sons-in-law, Marilyn "Lois" and Billie Jordan of Columbus, Ga.,

and Pamela and Elton Akins of Madison, Ala.; 10 grandchildren, 14

great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, three

siblings, two sisters-in-law and a special friend.
