Funeral services for Warren L. Walker, 87, of Waynesboro, will be at 12

p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home,

with Rev. Randy Cooley and Rev. Tommy Davis officiating. Visitation will

be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022 from the Parlor of

Freeman Funeral Home.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place a Hebron

Cemetery.

Born in Waynesboro on Saturday, Oct. 5, 1935 to the late Warren Bert

Walker and Vallie Weaver Walker, he was a member of Bethel Assembly of

God. He was retired as an Equipment Operator for the Wayne County Board

of Supervisors, District 3.

He died on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022 at his residence, surrounded by his

loving family.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lisa Walker of

Waynesboro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Alan Jabri of

Starkville and Julie and Rodney Davis of Geraldine, Ala.; four

grandchildren and their respective spouses, Lindsey and Evan Wilson of

Waynesboro, Maddy Walker of Waynesboro, Shelby Davis of Laurel and Rhyne

Davis of Waynesboro; and a great-grandchild, Walker Wilson of

Waynesboro.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Busby Walker; his parents,

Warrant Bert Walker and Vallie Weaver Walker; and his sister, Dannie Bea

Walker.

March 30, 1938-Dec. 25, 2022

Funeral services for Willys Glenwood Smith, Sr., 84, of Waynesboro were

conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022 from Corinth Free Will Baptist

Church, with Rev. DeJuan Walley, Rev. Norman Nowell and Rev. Ronald

Nowell officiating.

Interment followed at Corinth Free Will Baptist Cemetery.

Bonr in Waynesboro on Wednesday, March 30, 1938 to the late Edwin O.

Smith and Mattie C. Smith, he was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist

Church. He was retired as a Self-Employed Carpenter.

He died on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital, surrounded

by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dot Smith of Waynesboro; two

sons and daughters-in-law, Ty and Lisa Smith and Sharpie and Jennifer

Smith, all of Waynesboro; four grandchildren and their respective

spouses, Luke Smith of Waynesboro, Kaleb and Brianna Smith of Lucedale,

Grant Smith of Broomfield, Colo., and Dylan and Kaylee Smith of

Leakesville; two great-grandchildren, Anna Clair Smith and and Raeleigh

Kayte Hicks; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin O. Smith and Mattie C.

Smith; his brother, Lavelle Smith; two sisters, Lucille Lindsey and Irma

Jean Chapman; two grandsons, Clark Smith and Samuel Smith; and a

great-grandson, Roman Sharp Smith.

Funeral services for Larry Donnell Richardson, 63, of Laurel, were

conducted on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022 from Wesley Chapel United Methodist

Church, with Elder Carl Bradford officiating.

Interment followed at Ok Hill #2 Cemetery in Laurel.

Born on Sept. 14, 1959, he worked for Masonite Fabrication and the City

of Laurel's Public Works Department.

He died on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022 at South Central Regional Medical

Center.

He is survived by his son, Marlon Lavar Ulmer; two daughters, Shentoria

and Ann Torri Richardson; three sisters, three brothers, two

grandchildren, three aunts and a special friend.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nettie Ree Richardson; his

father, Eddie Lee Richardson; and his grandparents.

MINNIE LEE COOLEY

Funeral services for Minnie Lee Cooley, 81, of Waynesboro, were conduced

on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with

Rev. Norman Nowell, Rev. Jarrod Vanderslice, Rev. Michael Cooley and

Rev. Randy Cooley officiating.

Interment followed at Corinth Free Will Baptist Cemetery.

Born in Millry, Ala., on Thursday, July 31, 1941 to the late Eugene and

Nora Lee Waites, she was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church.

She worked in Quality Control at the blanket factory in Waynesboro.

She died on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her

loving family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Clifford Cooley; two

sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Venessa Cooley and David and Tracy

Cooley, all of Waynesboro; her daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Rex

Sharkey of Waynesboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Diane

Waites of Millry; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty and Don Laton

of Chatom, Ala. and Dot Cranford of Meridian; seven grandchildren and

their respective spouses, Rashae Bagley, Colby and Allyson Cooley,

Channing and Shayna Cooley, Ragan and Colby Beasley, Reid Cooley, Colton

and Layla Sharkey and Savannah Sharkey; nine great-grandchildren, Ryker,

Charlie Kate, Beck, Talon, Maylen, Maddox, Cayden Grace, Remi and Dylan;

and a host of nieces and nephews. She was also known as Maw-Maw to many

in the community, including Kenadi, Holdyn and Landyn Brashier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Nora Lee Waites;

her brother, Billy Waites; and her sister, Kathy Cranford.

Visitation for Ray Dean McLain, 59, of Waynesboro were conducted on

Interment followed at Boyles Chapel Cemetery.

Born in Waynesboro on Saturday, Jan. 5, 1963 to the late Owen and Daisy

McLain, he was a member of McLain Chapel Assembly of God Church. He

worked as a Crew Pusher for Kelley Brothers Contractors, Inc.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Krystal McLain of

Waynesboro; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Owen and Candace McLain of

Telford, Tenn., and Jordan McLain of Waynesboro; his daughter, Jalynn

McLain of Waynesboro; his brother, Ike McLain of Brandon; two sisters

and brothers-in-law, Jeanette and Michael Easterling of Sharon and

Annette and Arthur Scarbrough of Waynesboro; his granddaughter, Anniston

McLain; and his grandson, Owen McLain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Daisy McLain; two

sons, Dillon McLain and Jared McLain; four brothers, O.W. McLain, Bobby

McLain, Jerry McLain and Michael McLain; and four sisters, Beverly

Maxcey, Sherrie Ezell, Myrtle Davis and Linda Cooley.

Funeral services for June Carol Cochran, 88, of Waynesboro were

Interment followed at White House Cemetery.

Born on Sunday, Sept. 23, 1934 to the late John Carroll Kendrick and

Susie Kendrick, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Sheron Cochran

and Jerry and Rhonda Cochran, all of Clara; two daughters and

sons-in-law, Sue and Lonnie Williams of State Line and Sharon and Randy

Beard of Clara; two brothers, Hubert Kendrick of Waynesboro and Charles

Kendrick of Petal; a sister, Linda Cancienne of Magnolia; nine

grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy "Sput" Cochran; her

father, John Carroll Kendrick; her mother, Susie Kendrick; three

brothers, George Kendrick, Willard Kendrick and Bobby Kendrick; and

three sisters, Betty Leonard, Jeanette Jones and Laura Clanton.

Pallbearers were Austin Swindall, Steven Cochran, Chad Beard, Andy

Cochran, Ethan Cochran, Chuck Hardee and Caleb Swindall.
