LISA W. SINGLEY

March 29, 1966-Sept. 22, 2022

Funeral services for Lisa W. Singley, 56, of Waynesboro, were conducted

on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral, with Rev.

Paul Roney and Rev. Phillip Gandy officiating.

Interment followed at Hiwannee Cemetery.

Born in Waynesboro on Tuesday, March 29, 1966 to Richard Weaver and

Shirley J. (Mills) Weaver, she was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She started working at WABO Radio Station as "Lisa Lisa" while still

in high school, then left and went to First State Bank after her

children were in middle school. She later went to work as a Deputy

Circuit Clerk for Wayne County.

She died on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her

loving family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Jerry Singley of

Waynesboro; her mother, Shirley J. Weaver of Waynesboro; two daughters,

Katherine "K.C." Singley of Butler, Ala., and Jeri Renee Singley of

Waynesboro; her brother, Richard C. Weaver of Hattiesburg; a host of

aunts, uncles and cousins; and two special family pets, Rookie and Saban

(Roll Tide).

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Weaver; her paternal

grandparents, John and Mamie Weaver; and her maternal grandparents,

Adolphus and Gertrude Mills.

DR. JOHN W. STODGHILL

Aug. 23, 1934-Sept. 18, 2022

Funeral services with military honors for Dr. John W. Stodghill, 88, of

Waynesboro, were conducted on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 from the Chapel

of Freeman Funeral Home, with Rev. Hugh Acton officiating.

A private burial followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.

Born in Crystal Springs on Thursday, Aug. 23, 1934 to the late Charles

Ellis Stodghill and Hattie Jack Stodghill, he served in the United

States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1955. He served as a Presbyterian

Minister and Chaplain for Wayne General Hospital, Home Health and

Hospice for many years.

He died on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022 at Brookwood Villa Personal Care Home

in Waynesboro.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jane Esther "Kay"

Stodghill of Waynesboro; three sons and daughters-in-law, John Wesley

and Karen Stodghill, Jr. of Santa Elena, Cayo, Belize in Central

America, Jim and Tylia Stodghill of Burkesville, Ken., and Justin

Benjamin and Tonya Stodghill of Royse City, Texas; two daughters and

sons-in-law, Jane Kay and Jimmy Sims of Orange Beach, Ala., Joy Esther

and Tony Rancatore of Slidell, La.; 13 grandchildren and their

respective spouses, John and Prisy, Josh and MJ, Sara and Gary, Kristen,

Jared and Emma, Jacob, Lindsey and John, Kristen and Dustin, Ashley,

Jonathon, Jessica, Allie and Thad; and 16 great-grandchildren, Isaiah,

Inaya, Madison, Malachi, Josiah, Abigail, James, Abraham, Wyatt, Sawyer,

Hayes, Harper, Bentley, Norah, Breckin and Baker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ellis and Hattie Jack

Stodghill; three brothers, Charles, Jr., George and Frank; and three

sisters, Vera, Virgie and Janie.

Feb. 26, 1959-Sept. 14, 2022

Funeral services for Don Ernie Lewis, 63, of Waynesboro, were conducted

on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 from Sweet Hope Missionary Baptist Church,

with Pastor Curtis Blakley officiating.

Interment followed at Pineville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born on Feb. 26, 1959, he was a bus driver with the Wayne County School

District.

He died on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Pittman Lewis; his sons, Demetrius,

Derrick, Eric, Darnell, Donta, Don Lewis, Jr., and Dewayne Pittman; his

daughters, Natasha and Tatyana Lewis; his mother, Johnnie Marie McCann

of Waynesboro; his father, Otis Cooley of Dayton, Ohio; his brothers,

Kelvin, Gary, Michael and Chester; his sisters, Glendean and Deborah; 11

grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by Steve McCann, Coletha, Eddie Campbell, Ruth

Mayberry and Willie D. Davis.

KATHY VANESSA POWE

June 15, 1976-Sept. 15, 2022

Funeral services for Kathy Vanessa Powe, 46, of State Line, were

conducted on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022 from Mariah Baptist Church in State

Line, with Willie E. Rankins officiating.

Interment followed at State Line City Cemetery.

Born on June 15, 1976, she died on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022 at Forrest

General Hospital.

She is survived by her mother, Ethel Wilson; her father, Vernon Thomas

Powe; her siblings, Vernon Edsel Powe of Croton, Conn., and Jennifer

Littlefield of Chicago, Ill.; her uncle, Harper Wilson of Hattiesburg;

and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

LOIS DALE STOKLEY TYSON

Oct. 28, 1947-Sept. 19, 2022

Funeral services for Lois Dale Stokley Tyson, 73, of Waynesboro were

conducted on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022 from Phillips Funeral Home in

Gilbertown, Ala., with Rev. Jerry Turner and Lynn Adams officiating.

Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery in Butler, Ala.

Born on Oct. 28, 1947 in Souwilpa, Ala., to Joe Raymond Stokley and

Janice Shoemaker Stokley, she died on Monday Sept. 19, 2022 at her

residence in Waynesboro.

She is survived by her mother, Janice Dees of Tennessee; her daughter

and son-in-law, Audrey Tyson and Roy Bunch of Waynesboro; her

daughter-in-law, Tonia Tyson of Texas; her brothers, Mark Dees of

Fruitdale, Ala., Ricky Dees of Fruitdale and Mitchell Dees of Fruitdale;

her sisters, Linda Dees of Mobile, Ala., Peggy Buckley of Buckatunna,

Debra Dees of Tennessee and Maria Case of Needham, Ala.; her

grandchildren and their respective spouses, Nick Tyson, Angelique and

Cory Bass, Ashley Marcet and Austin Walley, Jacob Tyson, Mikayla and

Tyler Coats, Taylor Tyson, Tyler Tyson, Connor Bunch, Lakelyn Bunch and

Chad Gibbs; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Bass, Augustus Bass, Alyssa

Marcet, Harper Coats and Remington Coats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry "Henry T." Tyson;

her son, Raymond Tyson; her father, Joe Raymond Stokley; and her

brother, Charles V. Dees.

Serving as pallbearers were Roy Bunch, Corey Bass, Austin Walley, Connor

Bunch, Nick Tyson and Christopher Case. Honorary pallbearers included

Taylor Tyson and Tyler Tyson.
