Wayne Academy-Simpson game moved to 4 p.m. Friday at PRCC

Due to the steady and heavy rains that have fallen on the Pine Belt over
the past two weeks, Friday's football game between Wayne Academy and
Simpson Academy has been relocated and moved up.
The Jaguars were scheduled to face the Cougars in Mendenhall at 7 p.m.
Friday. Due to the rains and field conditions, though, the game has been
moved to 4 p.m. at Pearl River Community College.
Simpson officials made the decision on Thursday to move the game in
order to protect the field and keep it in shape to be used during the
rest of the season.
The game was moved to 4 p.m. because another game at PRCC is scheduled
for Friday.
Students at W.A. will have a 60 percent day, with the team leaving for
PRCC at 12 noon Friday.
The game will be broadcast live on www.thewaynecountynews.com and
through the newspaper's Facebook page. Viewers can also watch on Amazon
Fire and Roku. There is no cost to watch the games.
After the broadcast, an archive of the game will be available at
www.thewaynecountynews.com under the "WCN-TV" link on the home page.
Simply click there, then look at the listings under the "On Demand" tab
to watch the game free of charge.
