RANDOLPH "RANDY" BYRD

June 3, 2022

Funeral services for Randolph "Randy" Byrd, 73, of Richton, were

conducted on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from Hickory Grove Holiness Church,

with Brother Evans Freeman and Brother Douglas Manning officiating.

Interment followed at Hickory Grove Holiness Church Cemetery.

A member of Hickory Grove Holiness Church, he was a retired Equipment

Operator with MDOT, where he worked for more than 16 years.

He died on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital in

Hattiesburg.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Carroll Byrd of Richton; his

daughter and son-in-law, Cecelia and David Weeks of Richton; his stepson

and his spouse, Scott and Beth Elmore of Richton; his stepdaughter and

her spouse, Tonia and Wayne Harrison of Richton; his grandson, Justin

Garris of Hattiesburg; his step-grandchildren, Kanah Raine Chapman,

Cooper Chapman, Luke Chapman, Logan Overstreet, Justin Overstreet, Bryce

Mathis, Add Mathis, AShley Morris, Blaine Elmore, Mica Myrick, Haley

Hopkins, Logan Howard and Phillip Nicholson; 12 great-grandchildren; and

three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jerry and Rebecca Byrd of

Richton, Harold "Nig" and Elaine Byrd of Richton and Raymond Byrd of

Laurel.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Alice Brewer Byrd; his

second wife, Audrey Byrd; his parents, O.L. and Selma Byrd; his son,

Oliver Byrd; his brothers, Don Byrd, Clifton Byrd and Tom Byrd; his

sister, Nancy Pollinger; and his stepfather, Clyde Powell.

MARTHA ANN ELLZEY CLANTON

May 13, 1939-June 5, 2022

Funeral services for Martha Ann Ellzey Clanton, 83, of Buckatunna, were

conducted on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from the Chapel of Ellisville

Funeral Home, with Josh Dove and Arthur Burnett officiating.

Interment followed at Ellzey Cemetery in Soso.

Born in Moselle on Saturday, May 13, 1939, she served as a registered

nurse for 45 years. She was dedicated to her patients and she was eager

to help them with anything they needed. Most of all, she loved her

family. Her family also loved her, as they cherished her even through

her final days.

She died on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Regina Prince;

her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Thomas Runnels and Betty and

Ed West; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Lane and Hilda Ellzey, Glenn

and Francis Ellzey and Charles and Christine Rogers, Jr.; her sister,

Betty Sue Kennedy; her grandson and his spouse, Brandon and Amanda West;

her granddaughters and their respective spouses, Cindy and Josh Dove and

Wanda and Robby Mason; and her great-grandchildren, Maggie Mason,

Abigale Mason, Abby Dove, Makena Mason, Emmy Dove, Kameron West, Rikee

West, Ivy Dove and Aden West.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodie Clanton; her parents,

Henry Ellzey and Jannie Jones Hinton Ellzey; her brothers, Gordon

Prince, Doodle Ellzey, Ronald Ellzey and B.J. Ellzey; and her

brother-in-law, Stoney Kennedy.

Pallbearers were Josh Dove, Arthur Burnett, Thomas Runnels, Ed West,

Robby Mason and Michael Kennedy. Special music was performed by Abby

Dove and Alicia Burnett.

Funeral services for Shelby Jean Vanosdol, 63, of Buckatunna, were

conducted on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral

Home, with Rev. Curtis Cain officiating.

Interment followed at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Born in Waynesboro on Thursday, July 24, 1958 to Henry Columbus Vanosdol

and Velma Jordan McCary, she had worked as a Caregiver.

She died on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at her residence.

She is survived by her finance', James Randolph, Jr., of Buckatunna; her

half-brother, David Vanosdol of Michigan; two sisters, Linda Freeman of

Buckatunna and Sarah Mashburn of Waynesboro; and several nieces and

nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Columbus Vanosdol; her

mother, Velma McCary; her son, Glenn Hollinghead; and her daughter, Tena

Humphrey.

Mrs. Shelby Jean Vanosdol, 63, of Buckatunna, MS passed from this life

Thursday, June 2, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Waynesboro, MS

on Thursday, July 24, 1958 to Henry Columbus Vanosdol and Velma Jordan

McCary. She had worked as a Caregiver. Mrs. Vanosdol is preceded in

death by her father, Henry Columbus Vanosdol; mother, Velma McCary; son,

Glenn Hollinghead; daughter, Tena Humphrey. She is survived by her

fiance, James Randolph, Jr., Buckatunna, MS; half-brother, David

Vanosdol, Michigan; two sisters, Linda Freeman, Buckatunna, MS, Sarah

Mashburn, Waynesboro, MS; several nieces and nephews. Visitation for

Mrs. Vanosdol will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, June 6, 2022

at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Freeman

Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Cain officiating. Interment will be in

Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.

ARTHUR CRAIG PITTMAN

Nov. 11, 1934-June 3, 2022

Funeral services for Arthur Craig Pittman, 87, of Waynesboro, were

conducted on Monday, June 6, 2022 from Clara Church of God, with Rev.

David Tennyson, Rev. Edward Bean and Rev. Floyd Mills officiating.

Interment followed at White House Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Born in Waynesboro on Sunday, Nov. 11, 1934 to Arthur Pittman and Gracie

Pittman, he was a member of Clara Church of God. He was a Veteran,

serving in the Mississippi Army National Guard for 10 years and retired

as a Serviceman with Clark Oil.

He died on Friday, June 3, 2022 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Ruthie Pittman of Waynesboro; his daughter

and son-in-law, Donza and Holt Ross of Waynesboro; six brothers and five

sisters-in-law, Ulmer Ray Pittman, James and Johnnie Pittman, L.C. and

Lillie Pittman, Chester Lee and Patricia Pittman and Lynn Autry and

Bonita Pittman, all of Clara, and Dewade and Rhonda Pittman of

Birmingham, Ala.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Larry

Heiberger of St. Louis, Mo., Montez and Terrell Perry of Clara and Mary

and Glyn Waite of Clara; three grandchildren and their respective

spouses, Eli Ross, London Pittman and Drake Guy and Stone Ross; and a

great-grandchild, Denver Guy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Pittman; his mother,

Gracie Pittman; and his son, Anthony Craig Pittman.

Funeral services for Eddie Lamar Lindsey, 71, of Waynesboro, were

conducted on Monday, June 6, 2022 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral

Home, with Rev. Darrell Lloyd officiating.

Interment followed at Center Ridge Cemetery in Clarke County.

Born in Waynesboro on Sunday, July 30, 1950 to John Lindsey and Vivian

Lindsey, he was a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church in Quitman. He

served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era.

He had worked as an Operator for Wayne County Beat 3 Supervisors.

He died on Friday, June 3, 2022 at South Central Regional Medical Center

in Laurel.

He is survived by his wife, Helene Lindsey of Waynesboro; two sons and

daughters-in-law, Sean and Kimberly Richards of Tyler, Texas and

Nicholas Lee and Susan Cook Richards of Pulaski, Tenn.; two daughters,

Paula Lindsey of Pensacola, Fla., and Amanda Lindsey of Waynesboro; his

brother, Danny Roy Lindsey of Isney, Ala.; six sisters and four

brothers-in-law, Dale Eaves, Nelda and Robert Davis and Mary and John

Reaux, all of Waynesboro, Brenda and Edward Manning of Dennis, Barbara

and Mike Gandy of Waynesboro and Beverly Lindsey of Carmichael; and 11

grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Lindsey; his mother, Vivian

Lindsey; his daughter, Pamela Lindsey; and his brother, Larry Lindsey.

EARNEST HOLDER

May 28, 2022

Funeral services for Earnest Holder, 81, of the Pleasant Hill Community

in Greene County, were conducted on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from Pleasant

Hill Baptist Church, with Brother John Henry, Brother Larry Havard,

Brother Paul Walters and Brother Bryan Stuart officiating.

Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Holder loved people and always wanted to help others. He spent 20 years

serving the people of Greene County as a Supervisor for Beat 3; he

auctioneered for benefits for more than 30 years; and he served as a

Deacon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for 44 years. He and his beloved

wife, Sue, were always together and looking for ways to serve others.

His love for the Lord was shown in his everyday life. He spent each

morning reading his Bible and Daily Devotional. He was a member of

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for more than 70 years, and he could often

be heard reciting his favorite Scriptures that he had memorized over the

years, especially Psalms 100.

He loved his wife Sue, his sons and his grandchildren. HIs four sons

will always cherish their memories and lessons taught by their father.

He always taught them to go to church, to work hard, not to do anything

halfway but to put your whole heart into it, to always have faith even

when faced when trials and to be an encouragement to others. HIs one

hobby was painting old tractors, and he could often be found in the barn

sanding and painting his latest find.

He died on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at his residence.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Brent and Lisa Holder

of Rocky Creek, Scott and Tammy Holder of Waveland, Roy and Carmen

Holder of Pleasant Hill and Mark and Leslie Holder of Pleasant Hill; his

grandchildren and their respective spouses, Derek and Tiffany, Tyler,

Jayson, Haley, Ashley, Kelby, Caroline and Carson; his

great-grandchildren, Natalie and Audrey Kate; his brothers, Roger Dale

Holder of Richton and Hancel Holder of Beaumont; and his sisters, Mary

Martin of Bossier City, La., and Betty Singleton of Mobile, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 55 years, Sue;

his parents and several siblings.
