GEORGE COLON PITTS, JR.

Sept. 15, 1962-May 28, 2022

Graveside services for George Colon Pitts, Jr., 59, of Waynesboro, were

conducted on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from Shirley Place Cemetery in Wayne

County.

He was born in Waynesboro on Saturday, Sept. 15, 1962 to the late George

Colon Pitts, Sr., and Magdalene Pitts.

He died on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at H.C. Watkins Memorial HOspital in

Quitman.

He is survived by his wife, Chastity Presley-Pitts of Waynesboro; two

daughters, Kayla Touchstone and Teresa Marie Cason of Waynesboro; his

stepson, Presley Steven Ray of Clara; his brother and sister-in-law,

John and Tammy Pitts of Shubuta; his sister, Eva Pitts of Clara; his

mother-in-law, Annette Stevison of Strengthford; and a host of

grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

GERALD LOUIE CANADY

Dec. 6, 1932-May 21, 2022

Graveside services for Gerald Louie Canady, 89, of Waynesboro, were

conducted on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from Antioch Assembly of God

Cemetery.

Born in Waynesboro on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 1932 to Joe Canady and Nellie

Rainwater Canady, he was a Christian man who devoted his life to the

Lord. He served in the United States Air Force from 1953-1957. He

retired as an Operator of Occidental Chemical Company in Taft, La.

He died on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald A. and Mary

Jo Canady of Waynesboro and Michael L. and Diana Canady of Fairhope,

Ala.,; three grandchildren and their respective spouses, Melissa A. and

Darrell Dufrene of Waynesboro, Jennifer A. and Nicholas Lauritsen of

Harahan, La., and Jeffrey A. Canady at Westwego, La.; six

great-grandchildren and their respective spouses, Drake W. and October

Dufrene, Nicholas A. Lauritsen, Joshua B. Lauritsen, Teghan J.

Lauritsen, Brock A. Dufrene and Ryenne M. Lauritsen; and a host of

nieces, nephews, friends and other family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Canady; his mother, Nellie

Rainwater Canady; his wife, Edna Pearl Boykin Canady; his sister,

Katherine Canady; and his brother, L.H. Canady.

NOLAN WAYNE BOYD

Nov. 6, 1939-May 22, 2022

Graveside services for Nolan Wayne Boyd, 82, were conducted on Thursday,

May 26, 2022 from Rome Cemetery in Athens, Texas.

Born on Nov. 6, 1939 in Athens, he was a Retired Tool Pusher with Noble

Drilling Company.

He died on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

He is survived by two sisters, Wilma Dean Boyd Smith and Nona Faye

Kimery; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, William Kenneth and Mary

Boyd, Hodge Weldon Boyd and Alvin Ray "Butch" and Lila Boyd, all of

Athens; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy Ann Boyd and Glenn Duvall

and Karen Jo Boyd and Mark Upshaw, all of Waynesboro; five

granddaughters, a grandson, six great-granddaughters and seven

great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Boyd; his mother,

Nonie Virginia Meador Boyd; an infant brother and a sister, Willie Jean

Boyd Rogers.
