Funeral services for Shirley Gwen Rhone, 63, of Waynesboro, will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 from St. Luke United Methodist Church in Matherville, with Rev. James Crosby officiating. Visitation will be from 12-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his sister, Doris Hudson of Waynesboro.

Funeral services for Monroe "Coop" Causey, Sr., 88, of Silas, Ala., were conducted on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from Shady Grove Community Park in Silas, with Prophet Cornelius Causey officiating.

Interment followed at Shady Grove Cemetery in Silas.

Born on Oct. 25, 1933, he was a Retired Logger.

He died on Friday, April 8, 2022 in Silas.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Causey; six sons and five daughters-in-law, Monroe and Carolyn Causey, Jr., Sheldon and Angela Causey, Scott and Aldena Causey, Greg and Melissa Causey, Sherrod Causey and Luther and Gloria Jones; six sisters and three brothers-in-law, Patricia and Marvin Causey, Patsy Causey, Kanitra and Marcus Gilmore, Brenda and Sylvester Powe-Johnson, Angela Powe and Juwanna Powe-Abston; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and George Roscoe; 36 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children, a grandson, two great-grandsons, eight sisters and two brothers.

Born on Oct. 22, 1939, she died on Monday, April 4, 2022 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ellis and Teresa of Dayton, Ohio and Graylon and Debra of Wayne County; and a sister, Mary Louise.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services for Rodrick J'Rell McCarty, 30, of Shubuta, were conducted on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from the Family Life Center in Quitman, with Elder Charles Goodwin officiating.

Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery in the DeSoto community.

Born on Sept. 7, 1911, he was a Laborer.

He died on Friday, April 1, 2022 at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie McCarty; his daughter, MaKiyla McCarty; his parents, Lucille McCarty of Birmingham, Ala., and Roderick Miller of Jackson; his brothers, Terence McCarty and Cecil McCarty, both of Quitman; his sisters, Katrina Everette of Jackson and Cecille McCarty of Birmingham; and his grandmother, Irene Carter of Shubuta.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and both of his maternal grandparents.

He died on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Odom; his fiance', Cassandra Cooley; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kanikka Odom and Jennifer and Stanleoy Neal; two brothers and a sister-in-law, David and Ashley Odom and Mario Odom; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends.

Interment followed at White House Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Born in Waynesboro on Saturday, Nov. 4, 1939 to Adolphus Mills and Gertrude Mills, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a Retiree of Hood Industries.

He died on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Mills; his son and daughter-in-law, Alton Joe and Brenda Mills of Waynesboro; his daughters and son-in-law, Robin Mills and Spence Hudson of Hattiesburg; his brother, David Mills of Stafford, Va.; his sister, Shirley Weaver of Waynesboro; four grandchildren and their respective spouses, Breck and Loren Mills of Waynesboro, Reid and Sarah Hudson of Jackson, Winston Hudson of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Luke Hudson of Hattiesburg; and two great-grandchildren, Jase Mills and Dawson Mills, both of Waynesboro.

He was preceded in death by his father, Adolphus Mills; his mother, Gertrude Mills; and his sister, Zella Wayne Mills Singleterry.

Pallbearers were Breck Mills, Dennis Singleterry, Dana Singleterry, Reid Hudson, Winston Hudson and Luke Hudson.

He is survived by two brothers, Kenyado L. Shaw and Kendrick D. Shaw of Waynesboro; his mother, Jestine Shaw; his grandmother, Ida Shawof Waynesboro; a great aunt, four aunts, seven uncles, a niece and a nephew.
