Funeral services for James Floyd McCarty, 92, of Waynesboro, will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020 from Little Rock Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Jason Merritt officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020 from the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home.
Following the funeral service, interment will take place at White House Cemetery.
Born on Monday, Dec. 5, 1927 in Waynesboro to James Oscar McCarty and Velma McCarty, he was a member of Little Rock Assembly of God Church. He worked as a Machine Operator at Wells Lamont Glove Factory.
He died on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020 at Pine View Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He is survived by his two daughters, Ann Pitts of Waynesboro and Deborah Freeman of Richton; two brothers, Travis McCarty and Clifford McCarty, both of Waynesboro; a sister, Jettie McKee of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Roye Pitts, Thoye Pitts and Scott Freeman; seven great-grandchildren, Madilyn Pitts, Danielle Pitts, Dalton Pitts, Rylee Pitts, Tyler Williamson, Elizabeth Freeman and Shawna Freeman; and two great-great-grandchildren, Madison Thornton and Ryder Casey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise McCarty; his father, James Oscar McCarty; his mother, Velma McCarty; and two sisters, Louise Clifford and Inez Holifield.
