Funeral services for James Clifford “Teet” West, 81, of Waynesboro, will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Jimmy Ray Harrison and Dr. Dave Moran officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 from the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, followed by a lie-in-state from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Born in Wayne County on Thursday, March 11, 1937 to Harvey West and Phoebe McClain West, he was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was retired as a Machine Operator with Jimmy Joe Pryor Road Construction.
He died on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at his daughter’s residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deneiece and Frank Kellams of Waynesboro; four grandchildren and their respective spouses, Kacie and Blake Rigby, Somer Rushing, all of Waynesboro, Ryan and Iim Kellams of Jefferson, Ga., and Regan and Ron Fabrici of Marietta, Ga.; four great-grandchildren, Grayson Rigby, Korinne Kellas, Kamille Kellams and Ryder Fabrici; his sister, Jimmie Sue West of Brandon; two brothers-in-law and their respective spouses, Willie and Rachel Chancellor and Billie and Sylvia Chancellor; and two sisters-in-law, Nelliw Yarbrough and Cheryl Chancellor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Lee West; his mother, Phoebe West; his father, Harvey West; a brother, Albert West; two sisters, Effie Jane DeSantis and Pauline Petterman; and a brother-in-law, Lavon Chancellor.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stacy Chancellor, Chad Chancellor, Timmy Kirby, Ryan Kellams, Scott Johnson, Craig Chancellor, Leroy Luke and Robert DeSantis. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Billie Chancellor and Willie Chancellor.

    Sorry for the loss of “Teet.” Your family is in my prayers. You do not know me but Alma Lee and I were first cousins.
