Funeral services for Benz McCoy, 67, of Hattiesburg, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with Brian Alexander officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018 from the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home.
Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Clear Creek Cemetery in Shubuta.
Born in Shubuta on Monday, Aug. 28, 1950 to H.E. McCoy, Jr., and Edna McCoy Fike, he served in the United States Army. He worked as a Mill Wright at Georgia-Pacific and was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Houston, Texas.
He died on Friday, May 11, 2018 in Shubuta.
He is survived by his wife, Janis McCoy of Hattiesburg; his mother, Edna McCoy Fike of Ripley; two sons, Randy McCoy of Portland, Ore., and Dylan McCoy of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Ashley McCoy of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Greg McCoy of Sevierville, Tenn., and Kyle McCoy of Hattiesburg; a sister, Sarah McCoy James of Ripley; two grandchildren, Chloe McCoy of Gulfport and Olivia Odom of Hattiesburg; and two great-grandchildren, Aria Furr and Evie Furr, both of Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his father, H.E. McCoy, Jr.
