Funeral services for Albert Raybon McCarty, 81, of Waynesboro, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Allbrooks officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 from the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home.
Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Boykin Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Born in Waynesboro on Saturday, Jan. 23, 1937 to Albert H. and Ruth McCarty, he worked as a Self-Employed Labor Contractor.
He died on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Regency Hospital in Meridian.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine McCarty of Waynesboro; his son, Troy Allen McCarty of Waynesboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl Tadlock of Morton and Tracy L. and Rev. Charles Allbrooks of Waynesboro; his brother, Cecil McCarty of Laurel; his sister, Maudie V. Hartley of Millry, Ala.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth McCarty; his father, Albert H. McCarty; two brothers, Aubra McCarty and Robert McCarty; and three sisters, Emma Lee Lassiter, Lillian Collins and Wilma Ruth Boykin.
Pallbearers will be Robert Earl McCarty, Carlos McCarty, Joe McCarty, Craig McCarty, Tillmon McCarty and Samuel McCarty.
