Graveside services for Mattie M. Holston, 90, will be held at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 from Winchester Cemetery in Wayne County. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 from Freeman Funeral Home.

Born on May 10, 1924, she died on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 in Claiborne County.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Gay Holston, Jr., of Gautier; two daughters, Brenda Elam (Gayle) of Pattison and Becky Carlisle (Hollie) of Gautier; four grandsons, Derrek Elam, Lance Carlisle, Chris Carlisle and Adam Carlisle; three great-grandchildren, Collier Carlisle, Audrey Carlisle and Camille Carlisle; and a brotehr, Vernon McKinney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maudie Irene McRae McKinney; three brothers, Truel McKinney, Herman McKinney and Edward McKinney; and a sister, Lillie Holston.

Funeral services for Jimmy Combs, 80, of the Strengthford community, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 from Strengthford First Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Boutwell officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 from the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Strengthford Baptist Cemetery.

A native of Macon, Ga., he was a member of Strengthford First Baptist Church and the Strengthford Masonic Lodge. He worked as a foreman with Southern Scrap Metal and died on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 at Forrest General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Combs of the Strengthford Community; three daughters, Evondia Combs of Slidell, La., Janet Thibodeaux of Pearl River, La., and Tammy Miller of Kenner, La.; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Jane Overstreet of Mize; a sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Alfred Bunch of Waynesboro; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
