CARROLL BULLOCK WOOD
Nov. 22, 1922-Sept. 27, 2014
Mrs. Carroll Bullock Wood, devoted wife and mother, was called home to be with her Savior Our Lord Jesus Christ on Sept. 27, 2014.  Carroll was born Nov. 22, 1922 in Walthall County, the eldest child of Marshall Ellzey Bullock and Essie Dampeer Bullock. Carroll received her college education from Hillman College in Clinton Mississippi. It was during her tenure at Hillman that Carroll met the love of her life, Dr. James Powers Wood. Jim and Carroll forged their life together settling in Waynesboro in 1966. 

Mrs. Wood had a genuine love and concern for people and will always be remembered by those who met and knew her for her warm smile and kind words. She was a member of First Baptist Church Waynesboro and also active in her community serving on the Wayne County Democratic Committee, the Waynesboro Library Board and the Waynesboro Little Theatre as Talent Chairman for the 1980 Follies.  Mrs. Wood was the first woman elected to serve on the Waynesboro Country Club Board of Directors.  In addition to the aforementioned areas she also served as President of the Waynesboro Fortnightly Club, President of the Mississippi CowBelles and as a member of the Waynesboro Home and Garden Club. 

Carroll was preceded in death by both of her parents Marshall and Essie Bullock, her husband Dr. James P. Wood, her younger brother Marion Ellzey Bullock , her eldest son James Powers Wood, Jr. (Cheryl), her eldest daughter Anne Carroll Wood Beauvais (Henry). Carroll is survived by her youngest daughter Louise Dampeer Wood Rainwater (Clayton) of Waynesboro, and her youngest son Marshall Bullock Wood, Sr. of Waynesboro, along with four grandchildren; James Powers Wood  III (Christie), John Chance Rainwater, Carroll Wood Beauvais (Nate) and Marshall B Bullock Wood, II (Emily) and two great-granddaughters, Anna Katherine Wood and Claire Elizabeth Wood.

The arrangements for Mrs. Wood are as follows; Visitation Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 5-9 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home. Services on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 11 a.m. at Freeman Chapel, Waynesboro.

CORDRAL TURNER
Aug. 15, 1987-Sept. 23, 2014
Funeral services for Cordral Turner, 27, of Waynesboro, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 from New Rock Baptist Church, with Rev. Johnny Heartfield officiating.

Interment will follow at New Rock Cemetery.

Born on Aug. 15, 1987, he was disabled. He died on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

He is survived by his mother, Retha Turner; his father, Michael Daniels; a son, Ni'Kerius C. Turner; a daughter, Carrington J. Walley; two brothers, Cedric Daniels and Michael C. Daniels; and a sister, LaShanta Daniels.

McDonald and Sons Funeral Home of Waynesboro is in charge of arrangements.
